We might consider our spouses as the most important people in our lives, but believe it or not, many women admit that they actually prefer hanging out with their best female friends than with their own husbands. As a matter of fact, there’s a new study that says women actually like their best friends more than their husbands, and here’s the reason why.
According to a study that was conducted by Champneys Spa and Resorts in the United Kingdom, over half of the participants admitted that their relationship with their best friend trumps the one that they share with their husband. Now, that’s not to say that we don’t like our husbands altogether. Instead, when it comes to having fun, trust, and just hanging out with someone that’s close to us, we prefer to share these moments with someone who isn’t our romantic partner at home. And yes, we also prefer to just get away with our girlfriends more than our husbands. One of the reasons why is perhaps we see our romantic partners on an everyday basis, whereas, we only get to see our friends less often.
The study says that 57 percent of women feel as though they can talk about everything with their girlfriends, whereas they don’t feel as comfortable speaking out about certain topics with their married partners. Over 45 percent also feel that their female friends listen better than their husbands and over 39 percent say that they often laugh until they cry with their best friends.
Also, over 29 percent say they have more of a history and go back much further with their friends than their spouse, 23 percent think their friends give better advice and another 44 percent admit that they can tell their best friends things that they could never tell their partner.
If that weren’t enough, 43 percent of women also said that they have a spa day or a girls’ weekend planned with their friends in the upcoming year. Enjoying a weekend of rest and relaxation with your best girlfriends is something that every woman can look forward to before going home and kicking it back with their loved ones. Now that’s something 100 percent of moms can surely agree on.
