Soon after Disney announced the launch of their highly anticipated streaming service Disney+, Netflix has expanded their kids’ selection to include Nickelodeon programming. Netflix and Nickelodeon have worked together for some time, but now they’ve upped the ante so kids will have a greater selection that ever before.

Disney, which owns Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Nat Geo, and all the various Disney Princess and other cartoons, also is the proprietor of The Muppets, although HBO, which will included in WarnerMedia’s HBO Max service, has Sesame Street.

Netflix, however, despite the fact that Viacom — which owns Nickelodeon — is merging with CBS, which has its own streaming service, CBS All Access and will be launching children’s programming as well. Although for now, new editions of SpongeBob will be exclusive to Netflix.

So, what can we expect from the Nickelodeon/Netflix merger?

Firstly, specials based on The Loud House and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as, a spinoff of SpongeBob Squarepants that will center on the grumpy octopus Squidward. As of now, the following Nickelodeon are available on Netflix:

Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling

Also current live-action shows and movies including Victorious, Sam & Cat, Bella and the Bulldogs, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Jinxed, Big Time Movie, 100 Things To Do Before High School, A Fairly Odd Summer, and Liar Liar Vampire. There is also the 2016 short movie remake of Legends of the Hidden Temple, a few Rugrats movies, and more.

What you won’t find is SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer, since the deal lapsed in 2013.

“Nickelodeon has generated scores of characters that kids love, and we look forward to telling wholly original stories that re-imagine and expand on the worlds they inhabit,” said Melissa Cobb, Netflix vice president of original animation, in a November 13 announcement. “We’re thrilled to continue collaborating with Brian Robbins, Ramsey Naito, and the creative team at Nickelodeon in new ways as we look to find fresh voices and bring bold stories to our global audience on Netflix.”

Brian Robbins, president of Nickelodeon, also commented on the partnership.

Nickelodeon’s next step forward is to keep expanding beyond linear platforms, and our broader content partnership with Netflix is a key path toward that goal,” said Robbins.

“The Nickelodeon Animation Studio is home to the world-class artists and storytellers behind some of the most iconic characters and shows ever made, and our head of animation, Ramsey Naito, has been building on that legacy over the past year by ramping up development and production exponentially. The ideas and work at our studio are flowing, and we can’t wait to work with Melissa and the Netflix team on a premium slate of original animated content for kids and families around the world,” Robbins added.
