When it comes to home furnishings, things seem to fall into two categories: ridiculously expensive, or cheap but impossibly hard to assemble (looking at you, IKEA!). Yes, we want nice, stylish things for our homes. But we don't want to spend an arm and a leg, and we don't want to ruin our familial relationships putting it together, only to have it fall apart within a year of use. There's got to be some sort of middle ground! BUT WAIT - there is a middle ground, and that middle ground is called Wayfair. If you're not familiar with Wayfair, you are missing out. The online furniture and home decor retailer offers incredibly beautiful home pieces, but at really amazing prices. Affordable AND stylish? It's like a dream come true!
Up until now, if you wanted to shop Wayfair, you had to do so on their website and have it shipped to your home. But we have some great news: the company is opening it's first-ever brick and mortar store in the Boston area. We hope this is the first of many, and we hope the next one is close to us!
The first brick and mortar Wayfair store will be located in Natick, Massachusetts, at the Natick Mall. It's currently the largest mall in New England, and had a great balance of high-end and affordable mall staples. It's no surprise that Wayfair chose the Natick Mall for their flagship store - the company is headquartered in Boston, and they tested a pop-up shop in the same mall between November 2018 and early January 2019. The response must have been promising!
Wayfair offers a huge selection of home goods and furnishings; just browsing the website can easily take a couple of hours out of your day. So it'll be interesting to see what they include in their new space. And as much as we love the convenience of shopping online, there are some things you just need to buy in person. A couch may look good on the page, but if it feels like stone when you sit in it, that's not going to work! We can't wait to see the new Wayfair store, set to open this fall. If you're in the area, you have to visit it and report back!
