Vanessa Bryant gave a sweet tribute to her beloved late husband, Kobe Bryant and their daughter Gianna Bryant. This week marked Father/Daughter Day in the US and Vanessa shared a sweet photo of Kobe and Gianna smiling together

In her post, she simply wrote, "National Father/Daughter Day." Kobe and Gianna are photographed celebrating as the Los Angeles Lakers had just won the 2009 NBA Championship. That year Kobe was the MVP and led his team to victory.

Vanessa also added a "congratulations" on her post to the LA Lakers because they just won the NBA championship for the current 2019-2020 season. It's the first time the team has won the title since 2010 with Kobe. This is a sentimental post for so many reasons.

Vanessa lost both her husband and daughter and this weekend marked two occasions sure to stir up her emotions. The LA Lakers hadn't won a championship title since 2009 with Kobe Bryant leading the way. 10 years later, he's gone and wasn't able to see his old team win.

Vanessa had earlier posted an Instagram Story to the LA Laker General Manager Rob Pelinka congratulating him on the team's win and even referenced Kobe. She also wrote that she wished Kobe and Gianna had been there to see it.

Kobe was 41 and Gianna only 13 when they unexpectedly passed away in a helicopter crash nine months ago. Of course, Kobe was a phenomenal basketball player who was drafted right out of high school and set records throughout the years. He spent his entire pro career with the Los Angeles Lakes.

Gianna had a gift for basketball and played on a talented club team coached by her father. Together they had a special bond that was all about love and basketball. Vanessa's posts show how they're always on her mind and this is one weekend they definitely would be. As moms, we know she will never forget them or stop missing them.

It seems serendipitous for the Lakers to win the NBA finals for the first time in ten years on Father/Daughter Day. Kobe was a girl-dad through and through. He had four daughters, Natalia, Capri, and Bianka, and of course Gianna.

Father/Daughter Day and the LA Lakers winning the NBA title for the first time in ten years, must have been an emotional day for Vanessa.
