By now, you've probably heard of Mercury Retrograde. That wild time where communication and decision-making is apparently disrupted by the backwards moonwalking of a planet in our solar system. Even those who aren't typically into astrology can sometimes feel cautious when it comes to Mercury Retrograde. Well, have you ever heard of Uranus retrograde? Apparently this is a thing as well, and it is going to be around for awhile.

When a planet goes retrograde, what is happening is that it is appearing to go backwards in the sky. Uranus retrograde is set to start on August 11th, 2019 and is supposed to continue until January 10th, 2020. At approximately 5 months long, this might seem like an excessive amount of time to be in retrograde. However, unlike Mercury retrograde, this one doesn't come with the stigma that it might potentially be a time of complete life ruin.

Apparently, Uranus retrograde is a time for change. According to Bustle, Uranus retrograde is a time for transformations, and this isn't always a bad thing. They describe it as the perfect time to try and break free from limiting feelings and beliefs. The things begin to be set in motion during this period may have benefits in your life for a long time to come. Although change can be scary, there are many amazing things that can happen when your life shifts.

Although many people out there don't believe in astrology, we all definitely seem to go through periods in life where things feel a little bit off-kilter. Although Mercury retrograde gets the most attention (with all the memes and jokes that can come along with it), other planets also have certain phases which astrologers believe can have an impact on our human lives. Retrogrades are actually a very normal process, and this Uranus retrograde is one that happens annually.

According to the Sage Goddess website, Uranus is known for being an "Awakener", and this is the vibe it will bring to your life in retrograde. So for the 5 months that it's here, be prepared to look hard at the things you want in life and start making challenging moves to get there.
