Looking at pictures of your parents when they were younger is a strangely beautiful thing. It reminds us that yes, there was in fact, life before they had us - no matter how difficult a concept that can be to grasp! When you're a famous actress, things go one step beyond. There's not just photographic evidence, but grainy pre-HD footage, too. Tori Spelling has learned this the hard way.

During an interview with Australian radio show 2DayFm Breakfast with Grant, Ed & Ash, the star confessed that things didn't quite go to plan when she introduced her kids to Beverley Hills 90210. Spelling said she first showed her children the hit series she starred in about five years ago, but while they could pick our her friends and castmates, they couldn't recognize their own mother.

Spelling landed the role of Donna Martin when she was just 17 years old. Her father, Aaron Spelling, produced the show with his company. Over the course of the show's run, Spelling was nominated for two young artist's awards, proving that she wasn't just holding on to daddy's coattails. Following on from her stint on the show, Spelling underwent a nose job and breast augmentation which she publicly acknowledged. Some skeptics believe she had other procedures, but Spelling insists she just lost her baby fat. Since the teen drama wrapped in 2000 after ten years on the air, Tori has been busy raising a family while maintaining her career.

Beverly Hills 90210 is currently being rebooted with the original cast, including Spelling. Pegged for an August release, the series is titled BH90210. The last installment of the franchise focused on a new generation of residents. 90210 lasted five seasons and had several cameo appearances from OG's like Spelling and Shannen Doherty.

While working on a Lifetime movie in 2005, Tori met her future husband, Dean McDermott. The pair we already married to other parties when they began a relationship before going on to marry each other in 2006. They now share five children together: Liam Aaron, Stella Doreen, Harrie Margaret, Finn Davey, and Beau Dean.

It might be some time before the couple's youngest kids see mommy on screen, but let's hope it goes a letter better the second time around!
