A couple of years ago, Hatchimals took the world by storm. The cute hatching egg toy was THE hot toy during the holidays, and finding one was about as easy as finding the Holy Grail. Retailers sold out of them almost as soon as they hit the shelves, and people were selling them for 200% above retail price on resell markets like Ebay. It was sort of insane! But we have to admit, they were pretty cute. A little robotic animal inside of a giant egg that cracked and revealed your new little friend? So fun! Hatchimals are still pretty popular, but they haven't reached the same fever pitch they had when they first came on the market. All that might change though, after people get a glimpse of the newest member of the Hatchimal family.

A stroke of genius led to this match made in heaven - Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon in a Hatchimal! That's right, folks. You can have your very own hatching Toothless Hatchimal. For fans of the toy and the animated movies, this is going to be a must-have.

Spin Master, the company behind Hatchimals, debuted the cutest damn dragon we have ever seen at the 2019 Toy Fair in New York. This collaboration makes so much sense! After all, dragons hatch from eggs, right? And is there a more famous (and adorable) dragon than Toothless?! The next installment in the HTTYD series, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, came out on February 22. So kiddos are going to clamoring for some dragon merch. And we have a feeling that the Toothless Hatchimal will be high on a lot of gift lists.

The Toothless Hatchimal follows the same blueprint as other Hatchimals. He comes in his own egg, and when you remove it from the box, the egg will shake and the dragon's eyes will light up inside to let you know it's ready to come out. But instead of rubbing and soothing the egg to get him out, like with other Hatchimals, you have to get Toothless a little mad! You have to agitate the egg with taps and shakes. Once it's out, Toothless is all fun and games. You can feed it fish, hear it roar, teach it to fly and dive bomb, and the dragon even does the plasma blast Toothless is known for.

The Toothless Hatchimal is expected to hit shelves this fall, just in time for the holiday season. This one is a bit more than other Hatchimals at $60, but we have to say, it sounds worth every penny! Start making your plans for procurement now, you know this is going to be one of the hottest toys this holiday season!
