A TikTok video has gone viral for explaining the difference in how children are treated based on their birth order. Gone are the days when TikTok was an app just for children and tweens. When the world went into quarantine, and moms started to look for a place to escape to, they found the app. They found a community of other moms and parents, and it became a community where moms could share their joys and struggles with each other, with a few laughs as well. Parenting videos quickly started to go viral because the information was relatable and hilarious.

According to In The Know, one parent shared a video showing the differences in how children are treated and it has become a hit because almost every mom can relate. The reason they use children are treated “differently” is because of the order in which they were born.

The user who posted the video is a New Zealand created by the name Haukatangi Heta, and the full video can be seen here. The video opens with the creator acting like a mother, and speaking to her oldest child. They explain that the parents are going out for dinner and they need the child to watch their younger siblings.

Then the attention goes to the middle child and the change was noticed immediately. The name is forgotten and the message is portrayed that they are going out for dinner and that they need to listen to their older sibling.

Finally, the “mom” moves to the youngest, and the message is again completely different. The parent immediately praises the youngest child for doing virtually nothing and then asks if she wants to go to dinner with mommy and daddy. This clearly plays into the idea that the youngest child receives special treatment from parents.

Haukatangi's channel is full of relatable parenting content.

The video has gone completely viral, it has over 87,000 likes and over 1,000 comments and the comment section seemed to back up everything that was said in this video.

Some commenters who are the youngest in their family said that this was completely accurate.

One who is the oldest of the family said that this was true for their family, and they watched as the youngest seemed to get anything they wanted and got to go everywhere with their parents.

However, middle children everywhere chimed in as well and said that their parents constantly forgot their names and seemed to exclude them. It seems like this video didn’t just resonate with moms, but adult siblings who now may be reflecting on their childhood.
