One of the best things about Disney+ is the fact that we adults get to re-live our childhoods. Because pretty much every (but not all!) show we loved as kids has made it's way back to us. And as if that wasn't enough, some of our favorites are getting reboots. One of those shows that's allegedly getting a reboot is the animated show The Proud Family. At this point it's been confirmed by several cast members, and we're freaking out.

On a recent TV appearance on GM3, actress Jo Marie Peyton, who played Suga Momma pretty much confirmed the reboot is coming. While taking part in a reunion of 90s sitcom parents (Peyton also played Harriette Winslow on Family Matters) the conversation turned to The Proud Family and Suga Momma. One of the show's co-hosts, Keke Palmer, asked Peyton if she's anything like the family's sassy matriarch.

“Yeah, Suga’s large and in charge,” Peyton said. Then she added the best part. “That’s all I’ve got to say — except for Suga Mama will be doing some new episodes come February.” In the clip below, you can hear it for yourself around the 6:45 minute mark.

Keke Palmer, who is a 00s icon herself was basically all of us hearing the response. She very clearly couldn't contain her excitement. “Yes, on Disney+!” she said.

Jo Marie Peyton isn't the first Proud Family cast member to openly talk about the reboot. Over the summer, Tommy Davidson, who voiced dad Oscar Proud also talked about the reboot.

"I forgot to tell you that, The Proud Family is coming back. Proud Family's coming back," Davidson told Where Is the Buzz in an interview. "It's on one of Disney's streaming [services]. Yeah, Proud Family's coming back. They told me not to tell you [...] New episodes."

Hopefully, the reason Davidson was tight lipped was because this was before Disney+ released. But now that it's out and they've confirmed other reboots, people can talk more openly. Peyton gave us a time frame of February, but we're not sure if that's when they begin filming or when it'll premiere.

If both Tommy Davidson and Jo Marie Peyton have talked about the show, we hope that means all of the original cast is coming back. Kyla Pratt, who voiced main character Penny Proud, talked about being open to a reboot back in 2017. So we hope that means she's coming back too.

The Proud Family isn't currently available to stream on Disney+, but we hope that it'll come alongside the reboot. In the meantime, we'll just be over here waiting impatiently!
