Pinterest Moms; everyone wants to be them, but so few pull it off well. Every mom will try a pin she found on Pinterest at one point or another, only to find the end result to be absolutely lackluster and nothing like on the fabulous pictures. It's always a big bummer, but it's certainly an indication that these ladies put a lot of effort into making their images "Pinterest-worthy".
Please know that as a fellow Pinterest Mom, when I say these mamas are "extra," I mean that with all of the love in my heart. Seriously! Basically what I'm saying is: if you're not following these ladies, you're missing out on a ton of awesome kids activities and recipes from the best of the best.
I strive to create posts like these, and I really hope you enjoy their content as much as I do. I've been following some of these ladies for years and I hope they continue making posts for years to come. The rest of us regular moms are counting on their creativity and extra-ness!
While some of their over-the-top, amazing ideas may make you feel down about your own level of "Pinterestyness," it's always fun to repin their ideas so you can tell yourself that "one day" you'll do them. Who doesn't love that?
Stacey from The Soccer Mom Blog is one of the most extra moms out there, and I'm loving it! Everything she does, she does it with flair. Take this mermaid "freakshake" for instance. How cute is that? Her kids are seriously so lucky.
I think I would have a love-hate relationship with Stacey if we were friends. It would be amazing to make fun kids crafts and recipes together, but at the same time, she's just so perfect. I think I would end up feeling pretty inadequate most of the time because she's totally rocking motherhood. And she makes it look so easy!
If you haven't heard of Susie from Busy Toddler, you need to go look at her page as soon as you finish this article. I mean it! I'm not sure that she's really even "extra," she's just an amazing mom with endless ideas for keeping her kids busy. Most of her activity ideas involve very little setup. She's the Queen of thinking up cute activities using things that you probably already have at home, and moms everywhere are thanking her - Her blog is extremely popular, bringing in a ridiculous number of views every month.
Susie keeps it real, but she's also very proactive. Her kids are probably never bored.
If you've ever looked up anything to do with kids while on Pinterest, you've probably come across an idea or two from Tinkerlab. Rachelle Doorley is the mama behind the blog, and she's great at thinking up adorable and creative ideas to get little hands moving.
Rachelle goes above and beyond simple, fun crafts. She has a gift for creating art projects and science experiments that are not only fun, they're educational. Her Pinterest bio sums it up perfectly: "Inspiring young makers with open-ended art experiences that foster creativity." Making geodes in eggshells, origami crafts, making their own paper... this mom has done it all. One thing is for sure - Her kids are living the best life.
Vicky and I may share a name, but she's definitely rocking mom life way more than I am. She runs a blog called Mess for Less, and her Pinterest account is top notch. Think of every cute craft or activity you've ever wanted to do with your kids.
Do you have the long list in your head? Well, I can almost guarantee that Vicky has done all of them.
She's not just extra when it comes to kid stuff - she makes awesome meals and snacks too! I don't know how she has time for everything she does, but I'm jealous. She should make a course for women who want to be converted from a frazzled, stressed mom, to an amazing, fun, Pinterest mom.
Stephanie, AKA The Tiptoe Fairy is another mom who really knows how to keep her kids entertained. She's the definition of a fun mom.
She's been around for a while, but her posts have been going super viral this summer, at least from what I can tell. It seems every time I log into Pinterest I see someone else sharing one of her ideas. If you're ever looking for fun and creative activities or food for your kids to try, just take a look at her account and you'll be instantly inspired. Thank you Tiptoe Fairy, for the hours of fun you provide our kids!
I Heart Crafty Things is another mom who brings her A-game when it comes to kids crafts and activities. She's a lifesaver for moms of preschoolers and young children everywhere. In fact, back when I was the preschool teacher I followed her page religiously because she always had the most creative ideas for little ones.
One of her best posts (in my opinion) is the jellyfish craft shown above. What kid wouldn't love making these? Anything with googly-eyes is a total winner in my book, and she has plenty of those. Just imagine what her craft room/shelf looks like. Construction paper and glitter glue galore! #BestMomEver!
Alejandra from Easy Peasy and Fun is another creative mama with an eye for adorable crafts. Because of her colorful kids' art and great photography skills, she has over 8 million monthly views on Pinterest. In fact, if you're a mom, you've probably seen this caterpillar art before. Let's be honest - our kids' versions don't turn out this pretty, but that's okay! It's super fun, and I'm glad she put the idea out there for people to try.
Her style is very similar to that of I Heart Crafty Things, but their ideas don't seem to overlap! That tells me they're both equally talented and original. They should really team up and create a post together. I can only imagine what awesome ideas they could come up with!
Kids deserve to get messy at our expense from time to time. And when you let them do it, you take a lot of pictures because their smile is the only thing that makes the cleaning worth it. This mom has the right idea.
Chelsey is an elementary school teacher and mother, so it's no wonder she's so creative. I would be thrilled to have her teach my kids. She doesn't slack on anything. Keep the cute ideas coming, we're loving them!
Mama Plus One is all about making the most of your time. Before becoming a mom, I wouldn't have understood the struggle. When I was a preschool teacher I always went all out with everything I did, especially when it came to kids activities. With a crazy toddler running around, and chores that pile up literally as I'm cleaning, I get it now. And I love her blog for that!
She makes awesome meals and fun educational activities for her kids without sacrificing too much of her precious time. She's the most realistic Pinterest Mom ever, which makes her super relatable. Also, she really seems to like tacos, and I'm totally on board for that.
The Crafting Chicks is run by a group of mamas: Becky, Jamie, and Nakkala. And they're awesome! All three of them are super creative and take great pictures. They make delicious meals, give travel advice, and share their activity ideas.
Everything about their Pinterest page makes me envious. How do they make such delicious food? How do they come up with such cute crafts? They even made their own play kitchen. I can guarantee that if I recreated most of their projects, it wouldn't turn out nearly as pretty. Seriously, teach me your ways! Also, where can I get two creative friends to run a blog with me? That sounds like the life.
This N That With Olivia is another mom blogger with endless fun ideas for kids. It doesn't just end there, though! She makes awesome roundup posts featuring the best ideas on the internet and bakes delicious treats. My favorite posts of hers are the DIY's like lotion bars and other self-care items. The kids aren't the only ones having fun at her house! She makes sure to add things for moms too.
She's been blogging since 2011, before she even had her child. She's slowly transformed into an awesome Pinterest Mom since. I can't wait to see where the next few years take her.
About A Mom has a Pinterest page that is full of crafts and fun food recipes. Seriously, just looking at her page makes my stomach growl. Those sheep cupcakes are just too cute. It would be perfect for a farm-themed week.
Angela has even made DIY popcorn lip scrub. I would have loved that as a kid. Her daughter is one lucky girl! If you want to feel inspired to up your mom game, follow her on Pinterest for more creative ideas. There's no shortage of delicious dinner ideas and fun things to do with your kids, no matter their age.
Who could be more of an extra Pinterest Mom than Kimber, The Pinning Mama? The name says it all! Food is her specialty, but she has some kids crafts and activities sprinkled throughout her page as well.
Her food photography looks like it belongs in a magazine. It's no wonder she has over 10 million monthly viewers! Any recipe idea you've ever had, I bet you she's made it. She even has a grape jelly meatball recipe! It sounds oddly delicious. I search for her page all the time when I'm feeling uninspired in the kitchen. If you're tired of the same old dinner rotations, check The Pinning Mama out, for sure.
The Lean Green Bean is another foodie that shares her amazing and delicious recipe ideas with the world. She's actually a registered dietician as well, so not only does she know her way around the kitchen, she knows the human body.
Somehow she manages to make awesome dishes and share her knowledge on nutrition without coming across as pretentious at all. She seems completely down to earth and gives off the vibe that she truly just wants to share meals that are good for you. What I love most about The Lean Green Bean is that she doesn't target down on a specific "diet". She simply shares meals that are balanced and nutritious.
Every mom should be following Jennifer from The Craft Patch. Her page is a DIYer's dream. Honestly, most of her ideas are so unique and pretty that most people pin them and probably never actually try them. But that's pretty much Pinterest summed up, isn't it?
She makes her sewing, craft, and decor projects look so simple but I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to pull some of them off without taking a few classes and wasting a ton of money on failed remakes. But that's okay! We love her because as unrealistic it is that we'll ever be as awesome as she is, she gives us pretty projects to say we'll do "later".
Katie was Made To Be A Momma, that's for sure! She's just about the best homemaker I've ever seen. She could hold classes on how to be the best wife and mom and it would fill up almost immediately.
She makes delicious meals, shares tips on homemaking, does fun crafts with her kids and makes all kinds of awesome home decor. Like all of the other moms on this list, she takes everything to the next level. Why buy something when you can make it yourself? There's a holiday coming up? Better make a bunch of themed cookies, throw a party, and do some kids crafts! We're loving it, Katie, keep those pins coming!
Blair from The Seasoned Mom has a bio that perfectly captures the vibe of her entire page: "I believe in the power of a simple homemade meal to calm the chaos and unite a family."
Perfection! She doesn't just blog about food though. Blair shares all kinds of ideas that will surely keep you busy. DIY lip balms, kids games, you name it. She has a ton of fun autumn-themed crafts that probably go viral every year. She shares more adorable turkey art projects and mason jar crafts than you can handle. Give her a follow and you'll never be able to say you're bored again.
My Sister's Suitcase is run by two sisters, Holly and Nat. They don't live in the same state, and sharing their crafts on one blog is their way of staying close and connected. How sweet is that?
They're both extra Pinterest Moms, and it's pretty amazing. They both take beautiful pictures and it seems like they'll never run out of ideas. One of my favorites has to be their DIY Ice Cream Play-doh. My son would play with that for hours, and the idea would have never crossed my mind! Like most other Pinterest Moms, they take holidays to the next level. I wish I had time to make all of the things they do!
Kelly from Typically Simple makes plenty of things that are anything but simple, but we love it! There's no doubt in my mind that you've seen her pins before.
Like almost everyone else in this list, she makes DIY crafts and food. But my favorite thing about her is her printable worksheets for kids. I don't know why more moms don't make their own worksheets, but she definitely sets herself apart in that regard. I've actually used several of her worksheets with my nephews before, and they loved them! If you have preschoolers in the house, you've got to check her out.
Samantha from Sammy Approves is one of my favorite bloggers on Pinterest. Unlike most of the other moms on this list, she doesn't just take pictures of crafts and foods that she makes. She also writes articles about parenting, breastfeeding, and so much more.
Most mom bloggers seem to do one or the other. They make things and share their ideas, or they write tips for other moms struggling with similar situations. Very rarely will you find someone who does both so effortlessly, and so darn well. Her pictures are stunning, and her advice is solid. You rock Sammy! Keep it up.
