'Teen Mom' Star Mackenzie McKee And Husband Split

Mackenzie McKee, who first appeared on MTV's Teen Mom 3 and is now part of the cast of Teen Mom OG recently announced to fans that she and her husband of six years, Josh McKee, have separated. The couple, who began dating in 2009, wed in 2013.

The reality star, who's mother, Angie Douthit is currently battling stage 4 cancer, announced the split on Twitter, writing, "However I would like to say, that due to stress, me needing to stay focused, the media, etc. I am deciding my marriage needs a break. My heart breaks for my kids. But as of right now, this is what’s best. Thank you."

When one fan expressed shock at the news of the split, writing "you guys seemed really solid," McKee responded writing, "We were. We were truly best friends. It’s all just devastating."

McKee hinted there may be marital issues during a previous episode of Teen Mom OG when she suspected her husband may have been cheating on her. She opened up more to Us Weekly since she split with Josh, stating that the show has opened her eyes. "Turns out, Josh is not a good man whatsoever," she said. "Watching the show and catching him in lies, seeing how independent he is, I realize I deserve better." She went on to add that "I have fought for this marriage for many years, and lately, I’ve really opened my eyes to what a horrible person he is," she said.

Mackenzie and Josh are parents of three young children, son Gannon, 7, daughter Jaxie Taylor, 5, and son Broncs Weston, 3 months.

McKee reportedly was celebrating her newly single status writing, "Freshly single and ready to, be the boss babe that I am and let God lead me to what I deserve," on a throwback picture she posted on Instagram, but she has since deleted the post.

While neither Mackenzie nor Josh have commented further on the split, it seems that the issues leading up to it will be featured on this current season of Teen Mom OG. During last week's episode, she admitted that she no longer wanted to be with her husband and she felt like she was "settling."

" I feel like I deserve someone who is going to work as hard as I do," she said of her relationship with Josh. "I don't know where to go from here," she added.
