Taylor Swift has geared her generosity towards two moms who have been struggling, and it is not going unnoticed. This has been a hard year for moms everywhere. COVID-19 brought the loss of jobs, schools had shut down and now Christmas is here, and moms are wondering if they are going to be able to give their children a great Christmas. Especially when a lot of moms may be trying to “make up” for how bad this year has been to their children. Sadly, due to financial struggles, this has proven to be more difficult than one would think.

According to TMZ, Taylor Swift has made it a little easier for two moms, when she gave them each $13,000. These two moms had their stories shared in a recent article about Americans who had lost their jobs, were behind on rent and were just struggling to make it through.

The moms are Nikki Cornwell from Nashville, and Shelbie Selewski from Michigan. They both received the donation from Taylor on their GoFundMe pages, along with a note from the singer with words of encouragement. Taylor told Nikki that she had read about her story and she thought it was really brave of her to be so open. She apologized for everything that she had to go through and said this donation was from “one Nashville girl to another.”

The note she left Shelbie was similar. She told Shelbie that no one should have to feel this kind of stress and that she hopes her, and her family have a beautiful holiday season. Nikki and Shelbie had both written that they had faced medical and financial problems this year and that they were both on the verge of being evicted if they did not find a way to take care of their bills. Complex, which also covered the story, said that the two women’s GoFundMe accounts were now sitting at over $20,000 now thanks to Taylor.

It is always nice to see celebrities using their resources for good, and while Taylor may have wished she could bless every family that is struggling, her actions may have a ripple effect.

When celebrities do these acts of kindness and generosity, it can sometimes inspire others to do the same to people they see struggling. Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to make someone’s day brighter and this year, we all have to do what we can to help out those around us.
