Just in time for Baby Safety Month in September, Target's amazing car seat trade-in program is back. This is the perfect time for parents to trade in their older car seats and get a discount on a newer model. Whether your child has outgrown their current seat and needs to upsize or it's just time for something new, there's nothing better than being able to safely dispose of your older seat and bringing home something new.

Target customers can bring any type of car seat, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness and even booster car seats to their local store as part of the trade-in program. They even accept expired and damaged car seats as the materials collected are then safely recycled by Waste Management, a partner of Target.

When you trade-in your old car seat you'll then receive a 20% off coupon that you can use towards a brand new car seat, car seat base or booster seat. If you don't need a new car seat, you can use your 20% off coupon towards other much-needed baby gear like travel systems, strollers, play yards, high chairs, swings rockers, and bouncers. This is ideal for parents who may already have a replacement car seat to use and want to use the discount towards another item they may need for their child.

The Target car seat trade-in program runs from Tuesday, September 3 until Friday, September 13 at most Target stores. While drop-offs of the old car seat and car seat items can only happen in the store, customers can use their 20% off coupon both in store and online. The coupon will only be valid until Saturday, September 14, so make sure you have an idea of what you want so your coupon doesn't expire.

Target first launched their car-seat trade-in program in 2016 and since then it's recycled over a half-million car seats! That number just increases every year as the program grows bigger and better. The trade-in program has seen more than 11.9 million pounds of car seat material recycled through their partner, Waste Management.

If you have an old car seat laying around or one that needs to be replaced make sure you get to your local Target between September 3 and September 13 to take advantage of this amazing trade-in program. Happy Shopping!
