Tamara Mowry-Housley and her husband, Adam Housley, sat down and talked about their parenting styles, both before and after the coronavirus. Their family Youtube channel, The Housley Life, highlights parts of the family's life with their two young children, Aden John Tanner Housley, 7, and Ariah Talea Housley, 4.

The two sat down on their channel and talked about how they were excited to be parents and some of the challenges they faced.

Tamara talked about her depression and postpartum depression affected her. She talked about having depression at the age of 19, and when she gave birth, she was scared she was going to have postpartum depression, which she did with her second child. She said that talking to her loved ones and getting the help she needed really helped her get through it.

Another point that Adam talked about was to not compare your parenting. Each child is different and even though the second child is slightly easier, they are different and the way you parent them will be different.

"You're always going to make stupid mistakes and you have be okay with that," Adam said. "There's been times I remember thinking what do I do?"

Tamara goes on to say that you are a perfect parent until you are one. Every household has a different way of life, and as long as you are doing your best with love and information, you should just do you.

"The biggest mistake I made was that I thought I knew all the answers before I was a parent," Tamara said.

They really emphasis that they are parenting together. They don't say wait until the other parent comes home. The couple also agreed that sometimes their parenting styles differ a while, but they have to be able to work together and respect each other. Tamara even admits being the stricter one but sometimes may fall under the trap of the beautiful cries of their kids.

Tamara did admit that she is worried about when her kids become teenagers. She said that when she was a teenager,  she thought she knew everything, but now she knows she didn't know as much as she thought she knew. She is worried about that battle of the mind that is inevitable.

The main takeaway from the two videos is that parenting is unique to each household, but as long as the couple works together and they work with their child, it can be manageable.
