We all know how challenging it can be to find the perfect high chair for your little one as soon as they get to the age where solids are on the menu. You want something that flows with your home, wipes clean as easily as possible and it easy to get them in and out of - without them being able to do it on their own. One of the most popular high chairs on the market, Skip Hop's Tuo convertible high chair has been recalled by the brand and there's a lot that parents who have one in their home need to know.

On December 6th, Skip Hop recalled 32,000 Two convertible high chairs because of a safety issue. More specifically, after receiving feedback from a small group of parents, the brand was informed that the seats could pose a potential fall risk if the leg or legs become detached from the seat. However, none of these faulty high chairs lead to any injuries.

Skip Hop has said that if you own one, these chairs were purchased between December 2016 and September 2018 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Mexico and affects the following date codes: HH102016, HH11/2016, HH3/2017, HH4/2017, HH5/2017, HH6/2017, HH7/2017, HH8/2017, HH9/2017, HH092917, HH010518, HH030518, HH05182018, HH092717, HH05312018. The company said the code is located on the back of the chair, above the “WARNING” section.

If you do find that you have a Skip Hop Tuo high chair in your home, the company is making it really easy for customers to receive a refund through their recall program.  First, you will need to take a photo of the date code, found on the back of your high chair. Then, the high chair needs to be visibly destroyed by cutting the crotch strap and the fabric around the crotch strap. Then, that fabric needs to be removed and your name along with today's date needs to be written on the chair. Lastly, take a picture of that destroyed chair.

The point of this is that it shows the chair is not in usable condition if someone happens to find it in the garbage. It also ensures only one recall can be issued per high chair.

After all of that is done, fill out the refund form on Skip Hops' website. The company shared that "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our consumers and appreciate their understanding in this matter."
