It is always sweet to hear stories about children getting adopted, especially when they are getting older and their chances of getting adopted get slimmer and slimmer. We see a lot of celebrities adopting children, using their resources to give a child a loving home. Sia recently opened up about adopting two boys whom were about to age out of foster care and would be facing the world alone.
According to People, Sia recently appeared on the cover of Vogue Australia and she opened up and talked about the decision she made when adopting two 18-year-old boys last year. She shared how she was inspired by watching a documentary.
Sia said that she is obsessed with documentaries and reality TV, and she was watching a documentary one day when she saw her son on the TV. She stated that when she saw her son on TV, she felt an immediate connection. When she realized that he did not have a family, she knew she had to give him one. She thought that she had to find him and be his “mummy” and that is exactly what she did.
Sia tracked down the boy and his friend and brought them both home. Sia had recently opened up about becoming a mother during a virtual interview and she said that they had both suffered a lot, and she is so happy that she has been able to help them out. She acknowledges that she has the resources to get them the help they need to navigate and heal from their trauma.
Sia also revealed that she absolutely loves being a mother and she is open to doing it again. She said that while it has been one of the hardest things she has ever done, there has been such an overflow of love that she can see herself becoming a foster parent and bringing more children into her life. She does say that it may not be for a while and that when she is ready to be a foster parent, she will focus on infants. She said that she would like to bring infants into her home whom need love, and give them all the care they need until they find a forever home or until their parents can care for them again. She claims that if she can do that, it will be the one thing that can make her feel like she is superhuman.
