For those of us who love do nothing more after a busy day at work and taking care of the family than to sit on the couch, watch Netflix and chill (literally), finding a binge worthy show the entire family can enjoy is golden. No one wants to have to watch the latest kid friendly cartoon, but streaming Castle Rock (a Hulu original which is truly amazing!) with the kids may result in them sleeping in your bed until their 20.

Sure there are lots of shows available to stream on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video that our kids would watch all day if we let them, but finding those shows that appeal as much to mom as they do to the kids is like hitting the jackpot.

Being able to sit and become fully enthralled in a show as a family not only provides some sweet bonding time with your kids, but it also gives you an opportunity to engage in conversations about shows you all really love.

If you've been looking for some binge worthy shows your kids will love just as much as you do, check out these streamable suggestions for your next viewing session.

1. Stranger Things (Netflix)

This Netflix original series set in the 1980's will not only give parents a wonderful sense of nostalgia as they watch, but it will also completely enthrall your kids, who can watch people their own age as the stars of the show. Stranger Things is set in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, and follows a group of tweenagers as they investigate the disappearance of their friend Will. Will's disappearance coincides with the appearance of Eleven, a young girl with mysterious powers who is connected to Will's disappearance.

This show is definitely not for younger kids as it deals with monsters and bad guys and secret mind control powers, but if you have older kids who love movies like Goonies and Stand By Me, this is the perfect series to watch together. The show is rated TV-14 and may be unsuitable for kids under the age of 14.

Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on Netflix with 3 set to return early next year.

2. Doctor Who (Amazon Prime Video)

Fans of the iconic BBC series Doctor Who can watch the most recent 10 seasons on Amazon Prime Video. The series follows as the Doctor travels through time and space in his ship, the Tardis alongside his many friends as he battles a number of different villains to help save the world.

Common Sense Media recommends Doctor Who for kids ages 9 and up, and applauds the show for it's moral messages, making it not only binge worthy for parents, but entertaining for kids as well.

Fans of the series have seen a variety of actors take on the role of the titular Doctor Who, but when season 11 premieres this fall it will see the first woman, actress Jodie Whittaker, assume the role.

3. A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix)

Based on the popular books series of the same name, Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events is definitely something moms will love and love watching with their kids. Starring Neil Patrick Harris as the evil Count Olaf, it follows three orphans who are forced to live with their opportunistic guardian (Harris) as they try to figure out the cause of their parent's mysterious death.

The show is a bit dark and is typically geared towards the 10 and up crowd, but most moms will know whether their kids can handle it before letting them watch.

4. Fuller House (Netflix)

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, which is why Fuller House, the modern day sequel to the hit ABC sitcom Full House that ran from 1987-1995 has been such a hit.

With almost all original characters returning to Fuller House (the Olsen twins, who starred as youngest sister Michelle Tanner are the lone hold outs), moms have loved to see what the Tanner family is up to now that sisters DJ and Stephanie are grown with kids of their own. And it's the perfect show to watch with your kids because it's wholesome and full of positive messaging, and perfectly binge worthy for moms who love that walk down memory lane.

5. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is definitely a show you want to binge watch with your older kids, who are probably at least 14. The lighthearted comedy, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, follows a young woman who finds herself in New York City after being kept in an underground bunker alongside 3 other women for the last 15 years by a doomsday cult leader who had convinced them the world had ended. The episodes are only 30 minutes each meaning you can binge watch multiple episodes in one sitting, or savor them with your teen when they have the time.

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is lighthearted and sweet and hilarious and has earned itself numerous awards and nominations. The supporting cast of characters are just as vibrant and fun as Ellie Kemper's Schmidt, with Titus Burgess playing her roommate Titus Andromedon and the brilliant Jane Krakowski who plays Schmidt's former employer turned friend Jacqueline White.

6. Anne With an E (Netflix)

So many of us have grown up with the story of Anne of Green Gables, which is why this current reimagining of  L. M. Montgomery's classic series is a hit. Anne With an E follows the plucky orphan with the red hair and braids as she's taken in by a spinster and her bachelor brother.

Anne deals with current topics such as bullying and sexism in such a way that will have you rooting for her like you always did. The series is a feel good return to the story so many have grown up with and it's amazing to be able to introduce a new generation to the force that is Anne With an E.

7. Fixer Upper (Seasons 1-4 Hulu)

Fans of home reno shows are no doubt completely in love with watching Chip and Joanna Gaines as they present families with their fixer upper on their hit HGTV show. While the couple have ended their uber successful television series to focus on other projects, including the birth of their fifth child, son Crew, fans can stream seasons 1-4 on Hulu.

Many moms may be surprised to learn just how much their kids will love watching with them as the Gaines' help find families their perfect fixer upper, walk through the re-design process then complete the renovation. The final reveal is always mind blowing and the show not only cultivates your child's creative side but encourages them to take an interest in home design and renovation. It also opens up the lines of communication to discuss what you like, don't like and what you'd do differently. Kids of all ages can enjoy binge watching Fixer Upper just as much as moms do.

8. Chopped and Chopped Junior (Hulu)

Kids love watching the cooking show Chopped just as much as moms do, and now with Chopped Junior they can even watch their peers as they appear on the popular cooking show.

Chopped and Chopped Junior features action packed competition, timed challenges and the use of imagination as well as crazy talent in the kitchen as the chefs and amateur chefs battle each other and the clock to come up with awesome kitchen creations.

You can watch 8 seasons of the Food Network show on Hulu, as well as 2 seasons of Chopped Junior, providing you and your budding chef a lot of kitchen inspiration.

9. The Crown (Netflix)

While The Crown is not appropriate for your younger children, anyone who has teens in the house will no doubt love to binge watch this captivating series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II with them. The drama is fully entertaining while also being educational about many historical events.

The Crown portrays Queen Elizabeth as a woman who holds her duty as Queen as paramount to everything else in her life. She is shown as being fiercely loyal, smart, savvy, inquisitive and a caring mother while also being one of the most powerful women in the world.

10. One Day at A Time (Netflix)

Similar to Fuller House, the current re-imagining of the '80s classic hits us right in the nostalgic feels. This reboot, like the original, features a single mom raising her two children. In the new series the single mom is a Cuban American former army vet who is struggling to raise her tween and teen son and daughter. Rita Moreno is incredible as the sassy grandma who lives with her daughter and grand-kids, and of course the building superintendent plays a big role, like the original.

The current One Day At A Time has had critics raving as it tackles modern day issues that affect many families. Kids and parents alike will enjoy watching the show together, and the bonus is many conversations will be started as a result of the sometimes delicate subject matter tackled on the small screen.
