‘Teen Mom’ Star Ryan Edwards’ Dad Speaks Out On Maci Bookout’s Protection Order

Ryan Edwards is not able to see his oldest son, Bentley, due to a protection order, and it's affecting his parents, too.

Ryan Edwards has been at the center of much of the drama during last the season or two of Teen Mom OG. Fans of the show know that after an episode aired showing Edwards seemingly driving while under the influence of an illegal substance, the reality star admitted to having a heroin problem and went off to rehab.

Those who watch the show also know that Edwards had been in a constant battle with show star Maci Bookout, who is the mother of their 9-year-old son Bentley. While Edwards constantly complained about not having access to his son, Bookout continually requested he submit to a drug test before she would allow him to see Bentley.

Recently, Bookout and her family, including her husband Taylor McKinney and their two children, were granted a two year restraining order against Edwards after she claimed that he “left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son.”

Now Edwards father, Larry, who also frequently appears on the hit MTV show, is speaking out about Bookout's order of protection against his son and whether or not his son has seen Bentley.

Speaking to RadarOnline, Larry Edwards said that Ryan hasn't seen Bentley since March. “Ryan really missed Bentley,” he declared.

Fans of the show know that Bookout has always had a decent relationship with Larry and his wife Jen, and would often bring Bentley to visit his grandparents without Ryan being present.

“It’s been sporadic, but we have been with Bentley on a couple of weekends,” Larry told Radar. “Ryan has to leave the house at the time. She’s given us the opportunity to see him.”

Edwards is currently expecting his second child, another son, with wife Mackenzie Standifer. Larry says the new baby is a source of happiness and excitement in his son's life.

“Ryan is doing fantastic,” Larry said, saying he is “very excited” to be expecting a son in October.

“Ryan is very excited that it’s a boy,” he said. “We wanted a little girl because we don’t have a little girl!’

Standifer announced her pregnancy just days before Edwards was arrested for the second time.

Hopefully Edwards will be able to turn his life around especially now that he has a new baby on the way, and work towards being able to see Bentley again. Kudos to Bookout for allowing her son to continue to see his grandparents despite the order of protection against Ryan.
