Roblox is one of the most popular games that exist online for kids today. It came as a huge shock to many parents when it was announced that Roblox was a gateway for many inappropriate exposures such as nudity and sex. This is the last thing that parents think their children will be exposed to when they play Roblox, yet somehow, someway, it is happening and parents need to be aware.

Roblox is intended to be a virtual 3D world where kids can create and play their own games. Sadly, predators have taken over and have found an easy way to infiltrate what is supposed to be a child-friendly game that kids and parents both love.

With incredible ease, children can be suddenly shifted to a section of the game that exposes them to some very unwelcome, adult situations involving nudity and lewd acts, and parents are livid, as CBS News stated.

Condo Games

Welcome to the world of condo games, where anything is possible, much to the dismay of trusting parents who allowed their children to download this seemingly harmless game.

Roblox is a site with many games. There's also a section that allows children to design their own virtual characters, environments, and scenarios, but some of the computer codes they are using somehow isn't picked up by child filters, and it is introducing young gamers to a very dangerous world, reported Wondershare FamiSafe.

When Roblox's child safety filters are bypassed, "condo videos" or nude videos are visibly present, simulating sex acts and using imagery and vocabulary that parents would normally shield young children from. There is no controlling this once it is initiated. Parentology wrote that kids playing the game can simulate sex with completely nude characters –clearly not at all what any parent ever intended for their child to do with this gaming site.

Online Predators

The idea was that Roblox was to be designed as a kids game, but unfortunately, there's just no way of telling who is participating in the game, making it easy for adult predators to weigh in and take over. According to CTV News, "Videos of the game posted to YouTube show nude characters engaging in sexual positions while text bubbles displaying explicit messages appear overhead. One such video is titled 'How to Rape Someone in Roblox.'"

Clearly way out of the context that any child should ever be exposed to, Roblox is now under fire for not being able to safeguard innocent children who want nothing more than to just play a game in the way it was intended.

Safeguard Your Kids

This is difficult advice to give, because most parents give their child access to games such Roblox as a way to enable them to turn their backs and put their focus on something else. The games are meant to be trusted sources of entertainment that are going to captivate children long enough for their parents to be able to knock a few things off the to-do list.

Unfortunately, the only sure-fire way to safeguard children from online predators and hackers who take over sites such as Roblox is to monitor your child's online activity. That's never easy to do, but given the alternatives, it's well worth the effort. It is advised that children not use their devices without adult supervision.

Internet Unknowns

Even the most eagle-eyed parents who are in tune with all the moves their children make online are not going to be able to prevent a predator from infiltrating this system. It's simply impossible to know if the person your child is interacting with during an online game is indeed a child or an adult who is a child predator. The dark side of the internet is very real and there simply isn't anything in place that can prevent devious users from taking over.

"Child safety advocates have praised Roblox in the past for its robust terms of use, age restrictions and parental controls." The problem is those who have ill intentions are always a few steps ahead, and in this case, they've found a way to hack the system. "The result? 3D spaces filled with naked avatars simulating sex and other debauched acts, while crude language and hate speech fly in the chat."
