Rob Lowe is many things. Actor, possessor of incredible cheekbones, husband. He's also dad to two sons that love to troll their ol' pa on social media any chance they get. The younger generation of Lowe's like to poke fun at Rob for pretty much anything, from "accidentally" taking a selfie in front of his Emmy nominations, his poorly-worded joke captions, and even his throwback snaps. 24-year-old Johnny seems to be at the helm of most of the fun making, putting his older brother Matthew to shame.

After all, what's the point in your parents having social media if you can't give them a hard time about it? Lord knows they're the first to comment on those Saturday night snaps, right? While there's clearly a great sense of humor running through the Lowe veins, the family are also quick to share how much they mean to each other, too.

“Threesome,” Rob Lowe wrote in a photo of himself with Johnny and Chris Pratt. It didnt take long for  Johnny to chimed in saying, “I don’t condone this caption.”

The brothers told Ellen DeGeneres when they were guests on the show back in 2017 that they are not fans of their dad's social media posts.

“If we’re out and anyone wants to take a picture or we’re taking a family picture, he’s like, ‘No, no, no. This can’t be done here. The light is not right,’” Johnny said. “He likes selfies, I think, a little much.”

The trio even starred together in The Lowe Files, an A&E show which saw them hopping around the country to look into unsolved mysteries. Both Johnny and Matthew have done well for themselves, with Johnny graduating from Stanford and Matthew leaving Duke in 2016. He is now studying for a law degree at Loyola.

Rob Lowe had a rocky time of it in the late eighties and early nineties when a sex tape showing his intimate relations with a 16-year-old girl emerged. Later, further home movies were released, making him one of the first stars to have a commercially available tape. His career took a hit, but he managed to recover.

In the noughties, a lengthy battle ensued when a former nanny claimed she had been sexually harassed by the actor, and treated badly by his wife. The lawsuit was later dismissed. Clearly, the scandal didn't rock the solid foundation of this superstar family, who pulled through it all.

In fact, when Johnny mocked a shirtless selfie of his dad, a fan told him to unfollow if he had a problem. He hilariously replied, "Unfollowing would be the easy way out. I will continue to fight the good fight." If you're feeling down, a quick scan of Rob's Instagram might perk you up, if not for the selfies, then for the comments.
