Getting a tattoo is a big decision, therefore, unless you’re committed to a tramp stamp for life, you may want to consider something temporary. The latest in temporary tattoos are available on Etsy, courtesy of Lilimandrill, who advertises her hand-drawn custom portrait stamps and tattoos as party favors or personalized gifts.

According to Lilimandrill, aka Lise Grossmann, “You’ll get a unique, precise and delicate piece of art just for you and your guests.” The tattoos, which start at £32/$42, are drawn by hand and measure 1.2″ x 1.6″. The bespoke tattoos can be ordered in bulk and last for two to three days.

Perfect for baby showers, bachelorette parties, anniversaries, save-the-dates, or birthday celebrations, the customized portrait stamps or tattoos are a great way to commemorate a special occasion without making a lifelong commitment to a design. Also, by adding a personalized portrait to a mug, you can create a memorable party favor for guests to bring home.

The French artist, who specializes in creating portraits, has designed more than 10800 customized tattoos for people around the world. Lilimandrill, who admits to being obsessed with people's faces, spends hours recreating renderings. “As likeness is all about millimeters, I try to summarize with precision each feature so it's a real challenge.”

Having launched her business with just a few clients in 2008, the designer, who was a finalist in the 2019 Etsy Design Awards, now receives daily orders and works side by side with her husband Olivier to meet the demand. The couple creates stamps, tattoos and mugs from drawings or pictures provided by her customers.

Prices for a hand-drawn custom portrait stamps or tattoos range from £32/$42 to £185/$220. To order, simply contact Lilimandrill, send a picture and then specify the quantity. The artist will create a sketch and submit it for your consideration. You can choose to approve it or suggest changes. Once the final design is agreed upon, the portrait stamp or tattoo will be produced and shipped.
