Our kids have been riding the slime wave since before school let out last year, and while the slime-making has slowed down a bit now that they're back in school, it's still definitely one of their favorite crafts! We've shared some slime recipes here before, but with fall upon us and Halloween just around the corner, you're probably looking for a holiday-themed or seasonal slime for your kiddos to make.

Let's be honest: everything is pumpkin-flavored during fall, so why not whip up a batch or two of autumnal slime so your kids can get in on the pumpkin love! If you've ever scooped a pumpkin, then you know that the guts are pretty slimy and gross. They're basically their own kind of slime! And while we don't recommend letting your kids go to town with a bowl of pumpkin goo, this pumpkin guts slime recipe turns those gross insides into an awesome slime.

The pumpkin guts slime recipe is the brainchild of Parenting Chaos. Instead of throwing away the goop from inside the pumpkin, they turned it into a cool looking slime that's sure to please the littlest pumpkin fans in your life.

To make pumpkin guts slime, you'll need a couple of your usual slime supplies: clear school glue and liquid starch. You'll also need the seedy goop from one pumpkin (kids can be in charge of the scooping!). Place the pumpkin guts in a big bowl, then add two bottles of clear school glue and one cup of liquid starch. Mix well, adding more starch if your slime is too sticky (the moisture in the pumpkin can throw off the ratios for this slime).

Your pumpkin guts slime should start to come together after about 15 minutes. Because this slime does contain a perishable food product, you'll have to store it in the fridge. But just think of how much fun your kiddos will have playing with this Halloween slime!

So many different textures and smells. That's one of the reasons we love slime just as much as our kids: not only is it fun to play with, but it's a sensory science lesson every time!
