If you're a Royal follower or even a fan, there's a new Instagram account you must add to your follow list. Kensington Palace recently announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now have their very own Instagram account.
The Kensington Royal Instagram account announced the creation of the most recent Royal social media account, @SussexRoyal which will be dedicated to the work of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In the past, the Kensington Royal Instagram account featured the work of both Prince Harry and Meghan as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, but now it will only feature the work of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince Harry and Meghan's first post featured a picture of a logo that is a calligraphy version of the letters "M" and "H" intertwined, followed by a collection of personal and professional photos of their work and travels together.
“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”- Harry & Meghan" the couple signed their very first post.
The creation of the new social media account comes after an announcement from the Queen approving a new household for Harry and Meghan, ensuring the couple will have their own support staff separate from William and Kate moving forward.
"This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage," the announcement read.
It's clear that people are thrilled the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now have their own Instagram account too. The couple broke a Guinness Book of World Records for gaining 1 million followers in the fastest time! According to the site, it took Prince Harry and his new wife just 5 hrs and 45 min to reach the 1 million follower mark. They currently have 2.6 million followers, and it's growing quickly.
If fans are curious as to what kind of pictures they can expect on this new Instagram account, it seems they won't be disappointed. Included in the first post was a never before seen photo of the couple during a press trip to Fiji, as well as many others that seem to fully represent the couple both together and individually.
With the couple expecting their first baby in just a few weeks, it seems like perfect timing for Harry and Meghan to be creating their own identities as part of the royal family, apart from William and Kate.
