If you pay attention to astrology, you know about Mercury retrograde. Mainly because when Mercury goes retrograde, it throws everything in your life out of whack. But you probably don't know that Pluto (former regular planet turned dwarf planet) also goes retrograde. Well it does and has been in retrograde since April 24th. But now the retrograde is over, and Pluto is direct. And that means some things in our lives are about to be shaken up.
Because Pluto spends almost half the year in retrograde, we don't feel the effects quite as starkly as we do Mercury. Thank goodness. But, Pluto rules our subconscious, which means the retrograde brings forth personal growth. Astrologer Lisa Stardust explained, “During a planetary backspin, we can bring growth to areas where we are unsatisfied — relationships, sex, money, and work. Allowing oneself the chance to transform and awaken old yearnings will help soften the Plutonian energy,” she told Refinery29 when Pluto went retrograde in April.
So now that Pluto is direct again, it's a good time to take stock on those changes during retrograde. Did you maybe sit down and create a plan for a new project? Realize that you were unhappy in a relationship? Maybe you began searching for a new job? “Pluto retrograde has made us all face the hard facts about ourselves and truth within,” Stardust explains. “We’ve all been forced to dive inward and embrace our psychological nature and sexual desires.”
Pluto moved direct into Capricorn, which means the sign will also have its effect on our lives. As Stardust explains, Pluto moving into Capricorn means "we will be forced to embrace our deepest needs and the shadier aspects of ourselves." Additionally, Pluto's direct in Capricorn will cause us to recognize the "hardcore truths about our actions.”
It looks like our love and work lives will show the effects of Pluto's direct the most. One of the things we will likely give up? Power struggles with other people. And because we're more attuned to what we're looking for, our love lives will have the heat turned up.
"We will want to conquer the world, get the promotion, speak up, and get paid the rate we deserve,” Stardust notes. Sounds like this is truly the time to make things happen for yourself.
