If you have a little dinosaur lover at home then you have probably experienced many moments of bribing them to finish their dino chicken nuggets that Perdue created because they know what the struggle of busy moms is like. However, if you currently have your fridge stocked with this toddler favorite, you're going to want to do a double check on them because Perdue is recalling 16,000 pounds. Yes - almost as much as a real dino.

Here's what you need to know: on January 28th, Perdue voluntarily recalled over 16,000 pounds (approximately 21,348 packages of refrigerated, fully cooked fun shapes chicken breast nuggets under the PERDUE ® brand ) of its Fun Shapes Refrigerated Chicken Breast Nuggets. This recall is happening because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. These items were produced with the wrong back panel label and have an incorrect ingredient statement that did not have the milk allergen declared on the package.

At this time, there have been no reports of adverse reaction or illness associated with this product, but the recall is directly correlated to a customer inquiry the brand received. Jeff Shaw, Perdue’s Vice President for Quality Assurance, shared that a comprehensive investigation was done and they were able to find that it was a result of an isolated error during a specific period of time. “Out of an abundance of caution for our consumers we have decided to recall these items that were sold in the refrigerated case,” he says.

If you know you have these nuggets at home, you are going to want to double check the labels for the affected product  which had a lot code date stamp range of 17009010-19009010, a "use by" date of March 11, 2019, and the UPC Code 72745-00129 (the correct Perdue Fun Shapes UPC Code is actually 72745-00107).

Perdue Foods is offering refunds if you had purchased any of the recalled packages, you simply need to call them at 866-866-3703 for a full refund.
