While Halloween is definitely a fun and spooky time for some, it can also be an anxiety inducing, terrifying time for others. While most of us excitedly plan our kids costumes, transforming them in to tiny ghosts and goblins in search of a pillowcase full of candy before we head out into the night for a few hours of trick or treating, there are some parents who dread every single moment of it.

This is exactly why one mom decided that she couldn't face another All Hallow's Eve filled with streets crowded with costumed kids and constant interactions with strangers at their doorsteps. Instead, she placed an job advertisement to have someone take her three kids trick or treating for her.

The ad was posted on Childcare.co.uk, a website used for parents to find help with local childcare, by a single mom of three. The mom has three kids, ages 9, 7 and 3, and wants to hire someone to take her three kids trick or treating since she has severe social anxiety.

"I get very scared at Halloween because of the costumes and speaking to strangers to ask for sweets for the kids. I have severe social anxiety and am uncomfortable with trick or treating but I’d like for my kids to experience it," the mom of three writes in the ad. "I’d hate for them to miss out on this because of me and having put it off for the last 3 years I feel I can’t anymore."

The mom is offering the equivalent of $65 an hour for someone to come and help her kids get ready in their costumes and then bring them trick or treating for the evening, with them arriving home by 8 pm so they can still get to bed at a reasonable hour.

While it may seem like an odd request, Richard Conway, the founder of the website Childcare.co.uk knew he wanted to help any way he could.

“When I saw this advert put onto the website, I wanted to help the woman instantly," he told The Sun. “She’s clearly trying to do the best for her children and is more than happy to pay someone to perform this service."

Conway reached out to the woman to see what he could do for her.

“I got in touch with her to ask how I could help, and promoting this advert seemed like the best way I could help her.”

It might sound odd, but when you read into it, she sounds like a mom wanting to do the best for her kids.
