If you spend time with kids under the age of eight, chances are you've heard of Paw Patrol. The popular Nickelodeon series has been a hit with kids since its premiere in 2013. For many younger kids, Ryder and the crew are cherished friends. And as if the dozens of toys and shows aren't enough, we're getting a Paw Patrol movie! That's right, the Adventure Bay crew are getting their own full length feature film!

The team at Spin Master Corp. (the company that created Paw Patrol) are teaming up with Nickelodeon Movies to bring the show from the small screen to the big screen. Paramount Pictures will be distributing the film, which is set to release in 2021.

“We are thrilled to partner with Paramount and Nickelodeon to bring the PAW Patrol franchise, and the characters that children love, to the big screen,” said Spin Master Entertainment’s Executive Vice President, Jennifer Dodge in a press release. Dodge is also going to produce the film, with several heads of Spin Master as executive producers.

"Expanding PAW Patrol into the world of theatricals is a major milestone for this iconic property, and we can't wait for kids and families everywhere to experience it together,” President, Kids & Family Entertainment of ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks, Brian Robbins said.

Paw Patrol is arguably one of Nickelodeon's biggest properties and money makers. It makes sense that as the brand continues to grow, they would expand into full length features. Kids will be excited to see their favorite pups: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Skye, Rubble and Zuma on a full length adventure. As of right now, there's no information about the film's plot or anything, but we can guess that the other pups, alongside of the inhabitants of Adventure Bay will likely make an appearance too. We can also safely guess that there will be lots of adventure, and a whole new series of merchandise, including new toys, for parents to buy.

A Paw Patrol full length feature is the first of many for Spin Master Entertainment. “This first foray into the arena of feature film marks a significant strategic expansion for Spin Master Entertainment and our properties. This demonstrates our commitment to harnessing our own internal entertainment production teams to develop and deliver IP in a motion picture format and allows us to connect our characters to fans through shared theatrical experiences," Dodge added in the press release.

As of right now, the unnamed Paw Patrol movie is set to be directed by legendary animation director Cal Brunker. The film is currently slated for release in August 2021.
