Patrick Schwarzenegger, Arnold's son, was interviewed by Hoda and Jenna on his new film, Echo Boomers, and his relationship with his mother, Maria Shriver, and father.

On Hoda & Jenna, Patrick Schwarzenegger spoke about his new movie –which he played the role so well– and how much of an eye-opener it was about the harsh reality of college debt. Echo Boomers is like a Robin Hood story, as Hoda said, "20-year-olds steal from the rich and take it for themselves."

Patrick said that after his brother's friends graduated from the University of Michigan, they had no jobs due to COVID. These college graduates took out hefty student loans to pay for expensive classes to attain these high-paying jobs that were promised after school. However, graduation came and no celebration along with no job. You know what was there, though? Debt!

Patrick said this is a major fault most students face when going to college. He mentioned the movie is about this, but the characters dealt with the situation "in the worst way possible." He hopes that the movie helps others to be aware of the challenges young adults face, even though we've heard it so many times. The problem is that the "system," as Schwarzenegger said, needs to change.

Patrick also felt proud of himself as he revealed his parents' pride,

"'He’s so proud of me. Both my parents are proud of me,' Schwarzenegger said Monday on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, referring to his father and his mother."

The actor, 27, admitted that it was strange that he fell into acting. He modeled for several years. Patrick remembers when he was a child going to movie sets with his father. He grew up in that environment, and it was his "favorite activity."

“And I was so sad when he became governor, to go from Universal Studios’ lots to the Capitol. But it was really surreal to have him come to set and have kind of the pages turned and, yeah, he’s really proud of me. You know, they’re so supportive and I couldn’t ask for a better parent duo.”

Mom shared in a previous interview that she felt uncomfortable watching her son on-screen one time. She and her daughters, along with Patrick and his girlfriend, went to the movie theater to watch Daniel Isn’t Real. Patrick had a sex scene in the movie. Mom Maria was not prepared and wasn't sure if she should watch or cover her eyes. She confessed it felt inappropriate, as she laughed with Hoda.
