It may seem surprising, but for most of us parents, 32 minutes of me time is all that we get in a day! That is right, we are with our little ones basically 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It is a full time job with no breaks. Unless you count that measly 32 minutes that we might get to do a little something for ourselves.

Now, let’s talk about us, mamas. As women who care for our children with all of our hearts, nonstop, just how can and should we spend these precious few minutes that we have all to ourselves? It does not seem like a lot of time, but it can work to our advantage. We can give ourselves a much needed break by relaxing, running errands we want to run, catching up on sleep, and really doing things that make us happy.

We deserve our 32 minutes of free time!

How we wish to spend those few, yet ultra important, minutes is totally up to us. We get a chance to recharge. A chance to do something to make us even better parents. 20 Go On A Quick Target Run

We know the motto- Target run and done. There is something about Target, isn’t there? It is like it was designed for us moms! Target can either totally stress us out, or completely relax us. There is no in between! For your 32 minutes of me time, head on over to Target, for a relaxing Target run.

In fact, all you really have to do is walk around and check out the merchandise, no need to even buy anything!

If you want to buy something, sure you can grab some items on your list, but also pick up a coffee or makeup or something even better that is only for you.

19 Take A Cat Nap

They say the best naps are the short ones. In fact, many studies say that you should drink a cup of coffee, and then lie down for 25 minutes, which is the amount of time it takes for coffee to kick in. That is the perfect amount of time for a much needed mama cat nap! Use your 32 minutes of peacefulness to get a little bit of shut eye. It may leave you feeling rested and energized, ready to tackle the rest of the day with your crazy kiddos. A cat nap may be just what the doctor ordered!

18 Watch A Sitcom

If you feel like all you do is watch cartoons and kid shows, well, join the club. Us mamas rarely get the opportunity to watch the shows that we want to watch. Well, 32 minutes is the perfect amount of time to watch a half hour sitcom! Many mamas enjoy spending their free half hour by catching up on television shows they like to watch.

It can be relaxing and take you away for a short period of time. Want to watch an hour show?

17 Try A New Beauty Routine/Makeover

Yes, you can pamper yourself in just 32 minutes! You may have limited free time, but it can really be you-time. Go ahead and give yourself a makeover. Do it at the beauty counter or at home. Sample new products. Try out new creams, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and more. Give a little fashion show makeover right in your own home. It can all be wiped off when it is time to see your little ones again- if you wish to wipe it all off! The idea is to do something that is all about you, and a new beauty routine try out or makeover is a perfect way to do so.

16 Read A Book

Reading is relaxing. As moms, and parents, we might not get much time to enjoy a good book. If you are reader or looking forward to reading the next best seller before it turns into a movie, then spend your free time catching up on some reading. Grab a coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, or whatever tickles your taste buds, grab your book, and sit down for 32 minutes of uninterrupted free reading time. If anything, it will recharge you for the next round with your kiddos. And you can repeat your relaxing reading routine the next day, too!

It will probably improve your mood and make you feel connected again.

9 Just Drive Around

When we have some free time, sometimes all we really want to do is clear our heads. We sometimes want to literally think about nothing! So, why not just take a leisurely drive? Head out on the open road and just enjoy the scenery in your neighborhood. Explore nearby neighborhoods, too. You never know what you will find. Just don’t go too far, you do only have 32 minutes, that’s it!

Driving around aimlessly can be a relaxing experience, as well as a chance to think about really whatever is on our mind.

You don't even have to have a destination in mind. Just walk and clear your head. Listen to music, or not, it is totally up to you how you choose to take a nice, 32 minute walk.

5 Send Out Emails to Family and Friends

Is your inbox super filled? Do you have a hard time keeping up with all of those emails you need to reply to? Especially the ones to the people you care about, like your family and friends? During your 32 minutes of me time, do not do any real work! Instead, reply to some friendly emails, or send out a group email to family and friends letting them know everything that is going on with you and your family.

Email is a great way to stay connected and keep in touch, we just need to find the time to actually use it that way!

4 Read A Magazine

There is nothing quite like a relaxing with a magazine that has really nothing of value in it! Don’t you agree?! Use your 32 minutes of free time to your advantage by just sitting back and taking in all those celebrity stories, or whatever else tickles your fancy. You can choose any kind of magazine. If you like science or cars, grab those magazines! The idea is to just relax and use your me time doing something that makes you smile. Reading some fun magazines can accomplish that goal for sure.

3 Eat Whatever You Want

During your 32 minutes of free time, you get the chance to raid the fridge with zero judgments. Yes, you can have that chocolate milk or cookie and not have to share! You do not have to hide from your kids as you eat a candy bar. This is your time, and you do with it as you wish. Go ahead and indulge in something that makes you happy.

The food choice is totally up to you, just remember, it is your time without the kids, so make sure you choose something super yummy that you really want to enjoy!

2 Daydream

Me time can, and should, be something that is about us, and only us. It is a chance to do whatever you wish, even if what you wish to do is absolutely nothing. If you literally want to sit on the couch and daydream for those 32 precious minutes of free time, go for it. You do what makes you happy. Daydreaming is a great way to take your mind off your everyday tasks and think about whatever it is that makes you happy.

It is about doing what makes you happy, that will leave you feeling recharging for the next round with your kids. Want to enjoy a glass? Go for it!
