It's been a few weeks since we've heard anything from Olivia Jade Giannulli. Since the college admissions scandal broke this spring, the influencer has kept a low profile. But she did recently post on Instagram to wish her mom Lori Loughlin a belated happy birthday. And now she's posting again, with a "message" for the media who has been diligently covering everything related to the scandal. And it's not particularly nice either.
In the photo, Olivia Jade poses alone, sticking up both of her middle fingers. In the caption, she calls out media sites including The Daily Mail, PEOPLE, and Perez Hilton specifically. She adds the hashtags #close #source #says and then @everyothermediaoutlet. So basically she's rounding up everyone who's ever talked about her or the case. There has been extensive coverage of the college admissions scandal, especially since Loughlin, her husband Mossimo Giannulli, and fellow actress Felicity Huffman are involved.
The adults have been accused of paying money to Rick Singer through his non-profit organization to get their children into high profile colleges. Loughlin and Giannulli have been charged with giving Singer $500,000 to guarantee their daughters admission into USC. Olivia Jade, and her older sister Isabella were accepted to the college as members of the crew team, even though neither of them row crew. On top of that, the couple has been hit with additional charges, including money laundering and conspiracy to commit fraud.
Olivia Jade, who is a popular social media influncer with millions of followers, has significantly reduced her presence. After the scandal broke, she lost several key endorsements, including HP, Tresemme and Sephora. Additionally, Amazon, who hired Olivia Jade for their back-to-school campaign, replaced her with Reese Witherspoon's daughter, Ava Phillipe.
Since everything was exposed, Olivia Jade's relationship with her parents has allegedly been frosty. She blames their actions on the ruination of her "brand." Reports vary on how much she knew about her parents involvement prior to the court becoming involved. Both Olivia Jade and her mother have been open about their feeling that everyone is out to get them. Loughlin believes USC is trying to ruin her, and continues to maintain her innocence. We'll see what Olivia Jade has to say next soon, we're sure.
