Tell the truth: every single time you hear the first few beginning notes to The Addams Family theme song you feel happiness wash over you as you begin to sing along. Right? We knew it! There is something about hearing that song and knowing that you will soon see Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley on our screen that makes you feel all warm inside. It's a classic and was a true part of our childhood that we hope our children will enjoy, too. With the remake of the classic getting ready to hit the big screen, our kiddos will get to enjoy your favorite spooky family in a whole new way - and we think you might even enjoy it more than them!

There is one main difference to note about the revival of our childhood favorite - this version will be CGI-animated. This stands for computer generated imagery and is the form of animation we're used to seeing in films like Despicable Me.

Variety has officially reported that this animated version, being done by MGM, will feature some of our favorite actors and actresses playing the voices of these iconic characters. Gomez will be played by Oscar Issac (think: Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Charlize Theron will be playing Morticia, Allison Janney will be the "Addams family archnemesis" Margaux Needler, Bette Midler will be Grandmama, Chloë Grace Moretz will be Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard will be Pugsley, and Nick Kroll will be Uncle Fester. Talk about a star studded cast.

The plot of the movie really brings things to modern day as it will follow the family, "whose lives begin to unravel when they face off against a crafty reality TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration." Hmmmm interesting.

We're fully intrigued and eager to see what the Addams Family has been up to all these years, however, some users on Twitter have expressed disappointment in the fact that the film will be animated. One user saying, "can’t we just have another live action Addams Family with Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac as Morticia and Gomez instead?"

While we totally get where the disappointment is coming from, we think that the animation aspect will help us share a connection with our kids while watching the new film.

After all, the Addams Family have been around since the 1960's, Variety shared, so it's time for a little refresher. The Addams Family film will appropriately release during the month of Halloween, on Oct. 11, 2019, and that date can't come any faster.
