When the pumpkin spice arrives, it means fall is coming. And if September is coming (already?) that means it's time for the Netflix gods to come for us. That's right, the arrival of a new month means we're losing some of our favorite movies and shows on Netflix.
If you're a fan of those car racing criminal masterminds in the Fast and the Furious franchise, you have one more time to watch all the films. That's right, the three films on Netflix, The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift all drive away on September 1st. Also joining them are Christopher Nolan's contribution to the Batman films, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Sadly, if you love seeing Channing Tatum's grey sweatpants during his interpretation of Ginuwine's "Pony," you only have another couple days to watch Magic Mike. Get the girls and a bottle of champagne for one final hurrah before the guys gyrate their way off Netflix.
The Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore musical rom-com Music and Lyrics takes its swan song this month. Also leaving? The film adaptation of the popular, albeit gruesome musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet St. starring Johnny Depp as the murderous hair stylist and Helena Bonham Carter as a cannibalistic pie baker. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, the low key rom-com starring Michael Cera and Kat Dennings also heads out.
If you're a fan of the family drama of the Bravermans, you don't have much longer to binge Parenthood. Thankfully, it doesn't leave Netflix until the end of September, so get a few boxes of tissues and stay up late bingeing. Quirky and slightly weird show Portlandia is also dipping out later in the month.
Here are all the movies and shows leaving Netflix in September:
A Clockwork Orange
Californication, Season 1—7
Eight Legged Freaks
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Meet Joe Black
The Dark Knight
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Series 1—3
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D
Portlandia, Season 1—5
Parenthood, Season 1—6
