While we weren't paying attention, half the year has somehow flown by. Summer is here, full of camps, vacations, and nights trying to beat the heat. With the arrival of July, we also get a ton of new content from Netflix. You know, for those nights where it's too hot to sleep, or an unexpectedly rainy day.
This is a big month in terms of Netflix original content. Three of their most popular shows, Stranger Things, Queer Eye, and Orange is the New Black all have season premieres this month.
There may be fireworks outside, but you may want to spend July 4th binging the new season of Stranger Things. It's summer in Hawkins too, and it seems like everything is about to change. "When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear," says the season's official description.
If the prospect of a summer without the Fab Five makes you sad, don't be! That's right, we're getting a new season of Queer Eye on July 19th. Jonathan, Tan, Karamo, Antoni and Bobby are back on the streets of Kansas City performing "make betters" on eight more heroes. Season four was filmed with season three, hence the lack of location. This season will have to last you awhile though, season five is just beginning filming, which means it won't premiere until 2020.
Orange is the New Black was one of the first Netflix original shows to really make an impact. And now it's time for the seventh and final season. There have been a lot of highs and lows during the series, that's for sure. "Piper struggles with life on the outside, while life in Max, as corrupt and unjust as ever, goes on without her. Taystee’s friendship with Cindy still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms, Gloria and her kitchen staff are confronted by the hard truth of Polycon’s newest profit stream, while others chase drugs or dreams and grapple with the reality of their place in this world," reads the final season's description.
