Birthdays are always fun, and while 2020 may not have been kind to children celebrating, parents everywhere have been making sure their children know how much they are loved. Celebrities are just like us, and when one of their children celebrate a birthday, they usually post a lengthy tribute letting the world know how special they are. Neil Patrick Harris can be added to the mix, because his twins just turned 10 years old, and we all feel a bit ancient now.

According to Today, Neil Patrick Harris took to Instagram to post a sweet and touching tribute to his twins. A lot of people can remember when Neil first became a father, and that feels like it was just yesterday, so it is hard to believe they are now all grown up.

Harper and Gideon are Neil’s twins and he shares them with his husband David Burtka. Neil posted that he was amazed that 10 years had gone by, and just how fast they have gone by. He posted his caption with an adorable picture of the twins today sitting in front of a body of water. Neil said what a lot of parents think, and he said that he has never more tired and broken down in his life. However, he has also never felt more awake and alive. If that doesn’t describe parenting, we don’t know what will.

He said that he is so thankful for his children because being a parent makes you grow in “a thousand different directions.” He also gave a small shoutout to his husband and thanked him for all he does as a parent. Neil and David recently celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary as well and they are one of the most low-key and humble parents in Hollywood.

Neil is known for his work on shows like How I Met Your Mother and cameo appearances in the Harold & Kumar films, but he has not appeared in any major roles in a while. Neil and his whole family had also contracted COVID-19, and they kept their fans updated by posting that they were all feeling OK, and urged everyone to take the precautions seriously. They are a sweet family and it is so much fun to look back through all the picture of the twins when they were younger. They have grown so much, and we expect to see more of them in the future.
