While it is always tragic when someone loses their life, it hits a bit deeper when that person is a mother or a father. They have left behind children who need them and now have to navigate a world without a parent, something no one would wish on anyone. When Naya Rivera passed away, all attention was on her 5-year-old son, Josey.

Josey now had to grow up without his mother, his mother who loved him more than anyone in this world and the pair were incredibly close. Josey is now living with his father and his aunt and is trying to figure out how everything is going to work now, according to Today.

Josey is just 5 years old and learning about the world around him, and now he has to try and understand and come to terms with death and loss. A topic that no child should have to deal with.

His father, Ryan Dorsey, recently released an Instagram video on his page, and while he was mainly addressing the situation involving Naya’s sister moving in with him, he also spoke about how Josey has been doing.

He said that he had to tell his son that Naya, his mother, was in heaven now. Josey then told his father that he wants to go there, and even asked him how to get there to go and see her. Ryan said that this broke his heart. He said that he would never wish for anyone to have to hear their child ask that. An innocent enough question, but a question that is filled with an incredibly amount of heartbreak.
