Disney has released the first look at their new musical series, Tiana, which is being released in 2023 on their streaming service. Disney has been the place to turn to for magical memories, good feelings, and movies that are encouraging and heartwarming. Parents can feel good about their children watching Disney and the “princess culture” is strong among children everywhere. Disney is also striving to be more inclusive and diverse, knowing that every child deserves to see themselves in media and in their content. Tiana was the first Black princess, and she has been an icon ever since.

According to Huffington Post, the first look at a new series is now here, and it is getting a lot of people excited. The Princess and the Frog was first released in 2009, and that seems like forever ago, but the fan-favorite is coming back in this new musical series.

Disney released concept art for their new animated series on their Twitter account, and it can be seen down below and it looks absolutely beautiful. The show will follow Princess Tiana after the movie ended, and she is now the crowned princess of Maldonia, and will be off on new adventures.

The show is set to premiere on the streaming service in 2021 and while this seems like forever to wait, fans can always catch up with their favorite princess by watching her movie on Disney+. The series will be directed by Stella Meghie, and she voiced her thoughts on this new project. She thanked the company for trusting her to continue Tiana’s story and that this was a dream she has had and she cannot believe that it is finally coming true. As for who will voice Tiana, Anika Noni Rose will be returning to voice the princess, so Tiana will sound just the same to all of her little fans out there.

Anika had stated earlier that it was an honor to start this legacy and to be the voice behind the first Black Disney princess, and she is likely excited to be back at the role. Tiana is an inspiration to all little girls out there, she was not born into royalty and she had to work hard to support herself and fight for her dream. She showed herself to be fierce and tough, but her passion for life, food, and love were what saved the day. It is an honor to be able to see how her journey will continue.
