A new survey has found that mothers spend 97 hours a week on parenting tasks. Motherhood is incredibly busy, and it can be all-consuming, and mom can often find herself going through the motions without realizing what day it is, or what she needs to do. There always seems to be errands to run, laundry to be done, or a child that desperately needs something. This means that at the end of the day, when the kids are in bed, mom can sit down and have no idea what happened or where the day went.

According to Study Finds, a new survey was done that has shown that mothers spend an average of 97 hours a week on parenting tasks. This was found through a poll that was done on 2,000 mothers who had children between the ages of 5 to 18 years old, and it was commissioned by Campbells.

When they broke down all the tasks that a mother does during the week, they were able to categorize them into 15 different jobs, that other people get paid for. These were jobs like a chauffeur, cook, and even financial advisor.

It also found that moms do these tasks at the personal sacrifice of their sleep and their “me” time, which can be damaging. This can harm a woman’s mental health, and it reminds us to try and slow down sometimes and make sure that we are taking care of ourselves. It found that 53% said that they sacrifice their sleep for their families, and 47% said that they sacrifice their date nights, hobbies, and time with friends. If you didn’t already know that mothers were special and amazing, you do now.

The survey also confirmed what we all know and that is that moms will take care of their children’s needs before their own. They will eat on the run if they have to and 53% said that they struggle to eat nutritious meals due to what they have to do for their families.

While this survey shows how hard moms work, and how special they are, it is also concerning. It is concerning for a mother’s health that she is going so far above and beyond for the sake of her family, and it is important to make sure that mom has someone who is thinking of her and her health and well-being. A mom who is burnt out and overworked is not going to be good for anyone.
