The majority of Canadians support "barring" eligible unvaccinated kids from classrooms, according to a new survey. However, similar to the United States where the support of vaccines is split by party lines and by age of people, the support of not allowing those into the classroom if they do not have their COVID vaccine is split based upon where Canadians live, according to Yahoo! News.

The Yahoo/Maru Public Opinion survey revealed that as more Canadians become vaccinated and more organizations require vaccinations to participate in day-to-day activities, 58 percent of Canadian citizens believe that those who are eligible to be vaccinated should be upon entering school to keep students safe who are not able to be vaccinated at this point in time. And if they choose not to be then "barring" them should not be out of the question, according to 660 News.

Those who felt strongly about this, according to the publication were from those living in Ontario and Quebec, with both having 61 percent of citizens stating school-aged kids 12 years of age and older should be vaccinated to go to school.

Conversely, those from Atlantic Canada, British Columbia, and Alberta were more likely to oppose a vaccine mandate for kids to attend school.

According to Yahoo! News, the survey even broke down whether men or women were more likely to support a school vaccine mandate. And what the survey found was that women, regardless of where they lived, were more likely to not support a vaccine mandate versus men being more open to the idea.

Canadians also support college students being vaccinated before returning for classes, according to the survey.

While overall 66 percent of Canadians support college students being vaccinated before stepping foot on campus, based upon where citizens lived made the difference with how much support was thrown behind students receiving both vaccination shots.

Currently, there is not a vaccine mandate in place in Canada for students. However, according to CBS News, starting next month, those who are federal employees, "commercial air travelers," and passengers on trains and cruise ships will be not only required to get their vaccines but also show proof that they have had their vaccines.

The youngest of the Canadians to participate in the survey that took place from August 9 through August 10 were 18 years of age. They are in the group that believes that kids should not have to be vaccinated to return to the classroom.

To date, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not mentioned whether he would require kids to be vaccinated to allow them to return to the classroom. With elections right around the corner, however, it is sure to be a topic that will have to be dealt with sooner rather than later.
