A mother is on the lam after ramming her son’s barber through his own store’s windows using her Toyota Prius.

What would you do if you found out your son had been cut by a hairstylist? You’d probably have words with them, right? Maybe there would be an argument, and either there’d be a discount and an apology or you’d find a different place to cut your son’s hair.

That’s how it’d probably go for most people. But for this California mom, things escalated extremely quickly to attempted homicide.

Ruby Delgadillo, 28, is still at large after allegedly ramming her son’s barber through the store’s glass windows while at the wheel of her Toyota Prius. The barber, 63-year-old Brian Martin, suffered a broken leg and multiple lacerations. He was taken to hospital for emergency surgery where a metal rod was used to set the limb.

"She was trying to kill me," Martin told KRON-TV in an interview. The owner of Delta Barber Shop for 29 years, Martin describes Delgadillo as a fine customer until Wednesday afternoon when she discovered that he'd accidentally cut her son.

Martin tried to explain that Delgadillo's son was fidgeting in a chair, but the conversation quickly grew to a furious argument outside of the barbershop. At some point, the mother's eyes grew cold and she then grabbed her son and got into her 2006 Toyota Prius.

Rather than drive away, she drove toward Martin and plowed him through the glass storefront. Then she drove off with her son in the back seat.

After police arrived and interviewed both the victim and witnesses, they determined "this was an intentional act." She is still at large with Antioch Police requesting the public's help to track her down.

"Anyone with information on this case or on the whereabouts of Delgadillo is asked to call the Antioch Police Department non-emergency line at (925)778-2441," the Antioch Police Department wrote on their Facebook page. "You may also text-a-tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword ANTIOCH."
