While actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been the most famous faces associated with the college admissions scandal, there are many other less famous parents who are currently suffering the consequences of cheating on behalf of their children. One mother from Newport Beach, California who is also linked to the scandal dubbed Operation Varsity Blues has recently agreed to plead guilty for allegedly hiring someone to take online classes for her son.

57-year-old Karen Littlefair has agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud after it was discovered she had paid $9000 to have someone take online classes for her son so he could graduate from Georgetown University, the Department of Justice reports. While a plea hearing has not yet been scheduled, prosecutors are recommending that Littlefair serve four months in prison followed by one year of supervised release. She will also pay a $9500 fine and restitution.

"My client has taken the earliest opportunity to take responsibility for her conduct," Ken Julian, Littlefair's lawyer, told CNN.

Court documents found that Littlefair hired William "Rick" Singer's college counseling service to have someone take classes online for her son so he could graduate from Georgetown University. Her son graduated in Many 2018 using the credits earned from the four classes Singer's employee allegedly completed.

According to CNN, Georgetown began an internal investigation after the college admissions scandal and Singer's involvement went public at the beginning of the year which resulted in them finding "potential misconduct" with relation to a student who had previously graduated taking courses online. The University stated that Littelfair's charges could potentially impact her son's degree.

"When the University learns of a potential serious violation of the Honor System after a student has graduated, the Honor Council will investigate and adjudicate the case and may recommend sanctions up to and including the revocation of the student's degree," Georgetown said.

While Huffman, who has already served her jail time following her guilty plea and Loughlin, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her and husband Mossimo Giannulli, are the most well-known names linked to Operation Varsity Blues, Littlefair was the 53rd person to be charged in connection to the scandal.
