If there is something that moms know, it is how to get thing done. When we need to make it through or get something done, we roll up our sleeves and we do it. That goes for anything that means supporting our family and being able to spend as much time as we can with our children and care for them. There is a career to be made on social media as an influencer, but it is not easy. The odds of being able to make a living by being online are not on most people’s favors, but one mom made it work.

According to Inforum, Morgan Bylund was able to quit her 9-to-5 job and become a full-time social media influencer. She is the mom to a 5-year-old and a 20-month-old, and she was previously an accountant. She said she and her husband have owned a home design and DIY business for a while, but it was just a little side job to do for fun. Morgan was responsible for updating the business' social media pages.

When she was pregnant with her second son, she was really suffering and she took to YouTube to vent her frustrations, and people were listening. She, then, made a birth vlog when her son was born, and she gained even more subscribers and followers. Morgan said she considers herself a “social media influencer.” In May, she quit her job, and stayed home to focus on her social media status as well as her family business. How does she do it?

She said that she would be considered a “micro influencer,” but she thinks that helps her because she can get to know her fans on a more personal level. When she was asked what advice she would give fellow moms who want to follow the same journey, Morgan said don’t be afraid. She said to just “jump into it.” She said while it can look easy, trying to make it as a social influencer is hard work, and it requires work around the clock.

Morgan said for the past two years, she has been working at all hours of the day, sometimes being up at 2 in the morning to edit a video. It is all about putting in the effort. She said if you put in the effort then will see good results. For moms who are wondering what the income is like being online, a lot of it depends on getting sponsorships, which are usually offered to people who have a lot of views and followers.
