It is completely understandable to wish we were all living in a different time right now. 2020 has not been kind to anyone and it is easy to close our eyes and wish we were back in the 90s, the 80s or even the 1970s. Looking back, those seemed like such simple times and there wasn’t a global pandemic in any of those decades. One mom decided to transform her home to make it feel like she was living in another era (not because of the pandemic).

According to Good News Network, Estelle Bilson is a mom from England. She has always loved vintage things, and has always worked very hard to try and track them down. She travels to auctions, thrift stores,  and looks on eBay to find the perfect pieces.

However, her love of all things vintage really ramped up when her family moved to a new home. She decided to turn her entire home into a shrine or museum-of-sorts of the 1970s. She started off by painting her home with the colors that were incredibly popular back then. She used different shades of orange and green and the only things in her home that are modern are her vacuum and her mattress.

Every single other thing in her home comes right from the 70s. She has disco balls, original copies of magazines and a TV set that are so incredibly retro. Estelle is an upholstery designer by trade, and she used her skill to make sure all of her fabric and clothing matches the house as well. Talk about commitment. While it may seem like this cost her a fortune, it only cost her around $2,000! That is because everything is second-hand. Nothing was purchased new, so she was able to save a lot of money when it came to filling her house.

Estelle lives in her home with her partner, Stephen De Sarasola and her 4-year-old son. She said that she started collecting in 1990 when she was just 13-years-old. She also reminds everyone that she simply likes the look of the 70s; they do not live like they're in the 70s. This means that the family does have laptops, computers and cell phones. Estelle got so many compliments on her home that she decided to start her own Instagram account, and she has grown to over 31,000 followers and it is full of pictures of her totally awesome home.
