Actress and model Milla Jovovich, best known for her roles in The Fifth Element and Resident Evil, is expecting a rainbow baby! Jovovich announced her exciting pregnancy on her Instagram page yesterday, revealing that she waited a little longer to publicly announce her good news after suffering from a tragic pregnancy loss two years ago.

This will be the third child for Jovovich and husband Paul W. S. Anderson, and the actress shared her initial concerns about her pregnancy in her touching post. "Knocked up again," she captioned a gorgeous picture of herself showing off her baby bump. "After I found out I was pregnant 13 weeks ago, I had a mixture of feelings ranging between complete joy and utter terror. Because of my age and losing the last pregnancy I didn’t want to get attached to this potential baby too quickly," she wrote.

She went on to explain that she waited for doctors to assure her that her baby was healthy before revealing the pregnancy and that she was having another girl. "That was obviously not fun and the last few months have been my family and I living on pins and needles waiting for a slew of different test results to come in and spending most of our time in doctors offices," she explained. "Thank goodness we’re in the clear AND we found out that we’ve been blessed with another girl!"

In May Jovovich revealed through a post on Instagram that she lost her previous pregnancy two years ago while on location in Eastern Europe. She was four and a half months pregnant at the time and had gone into pre-term labor, which forced her to have an emergency abortion. "I myself went through an emergency abortion 2 years ago," she wrote. "I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and shooting on location in Eastern Europe. I went into preterm labor and told that I had to be awake for the whole procedure. It was one of the most horrific experiences I have ever gone through."

She went on to explain that the entire event threw her into a state of depression she had to work very hard to get out of. "I spiraled into one of the worst depressions of my life and had to work extremely hard to find my way out. I took time off of my career. I isolated myself for months and had to keep a strong face for my two amazing kids." She wrote that she spoke out about her devastating experience to advocate for safe abortion access for women everywhere. "Abortion is a nightmare at its best. No woman wants to go through that. But we have to fight to make sure our rights are preserved to obtain a safe one if we need to. I never wanted to speak about this experience. But I cannot remain silent when so much is at stake."

It's understandable that the mother of two would wait a little longer until to announce this recent pregnancy. Jovovich and Anderson are the parents of 11-year-old Ever and 4-year-old Dashiel and are thrilled to be welcoming another daughter into their family.

"Anyway, wish me and my baby luck!" the actress wrote as she ended her pregnancy announcement. "I send you all a lot of love and I’ll keep you posted on my progression!"

Congratulations to the entire family.
