Exhaustion. It's the word that pretty sums of every parent's life when our kids are little. We wake up, do all the things, deal with all the problems, work and do laundry in between and then deal with it all again the next day. We're pooped every time evening rolls around and sometimes find it impossible to even keep our eyes open to binge Netflix. Sound familiar? Yup! However, if you are feeling extra sluggish this month, you can go ahead and blame it on the planets.

On March 5th, the planet Mercury when into Retrograde for the first time this year. Apparently, there's been an awful lot of chatter about how harsh this Retrograde has been so far and no one really prepared themselves. Yes, Mercury blindsided us all.

If you don't pay attention to what's happening with the planets,  Mercury rules communication, travel, and data, meaning all these things can be affected during this time. What happens whenever Mercury goes retrograde is that the planet actually slows down. Because of that, here on Earth, it looks like it's moving backward.

During this time, you can expect communication to be more difficult, possible delays and cancellations if you are traveling, and is said to be a bad time to make a big decision or sign contracts.

Then when it comes to our precious sleep, you can most definitely feel much more tired during this time. Due to the fact that Mercury in Retrograde can yield many more strong emotions and restlessness, they impact your sleep in a pretty big way and cause you to be much more tired during the daytime. And don't rule out stress and anxiety because those feelings can get stronger, too.

So basically, this is the time to get as zen as you can possibly be during bedtime. Get those kiddos to sleep early so that you can take some time for yourself. Even though Mercury in Retrograde will try to mess with your sleep, you don't have to give into it. Diffuse some essential oils, take a hot shower, whatever floats your boat—and be prepared.
