Spotlight on: Smart Works We are proud to be supporting a very special initiative this autumn for @SmartWorksCharity! After quiet visits to Smartworks over the last year, The Duchess was moved by the impactful work being done by this non profit organisation that helps women into the workforce, equipping them with both the skills and clothes they need to feel job-ready. Throughout her visits she noticed that while the donations were plentiful, they were also notably a combination of mismatched items and colours which weren’t always the right stylistic choices or sizes that didn’t necessarily “suit” the job at hand: to make a woman feel confident and inspired as she walked into her job interview. As a result, launching this autumn, The Duchess will be supporting a collective to help equip the women of Smart Works with the key workwear essentials they need as they enter into the workplace. This initiative is supported by four generous brands who share the vision to empower the women of Smart Works to look and feel 💯 as they bravely venture in to what can often be a daunting environment for those who have been out of the job market. The brands have come together to work towards this united force for good, “[reframing] the idea of charity as community,” as The Duchess writes in a piece for this month’s British Vogue. They will follow the 1:1 model where an item from the collection purchased is an item shared with a woman of Smart Works because “not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story; it reminds us we are in it together.” For more information on how you can be part of another woman’s success story visit @smartworkscharity. Special thanks to: @JohnLewisandPartners, @MarksandSpencer, @MishaNonoo, @InsideJigsaw for supporting this very special organisation. And to find out more, read the September issue of @BritishVogue and stay tuned for more exciting updates this autumn. Photo©️SussexRoyal
Based on the size of her bump in the pictures, they were likely taken in the late winter and spring. In the first few pictures, she is wearing a beautiful, textured black cape style top. Pairing it with black skinny pants and pointy black flats, she is the picture of elegant pregnancy style. Somehow, even though she is obviously quite pregnant, she looks incredible. Not a drop of sweat or bloat anywhere.
In the last picture, which was likely towards the end of her pregnancy, she is wearing a beautiful sleeveless sheath dress. She tenderly supports her large bump from the bottom, probably because it was feeling heavy. During her pregnancy, trolls who had nothing else to complain about, claimed she touched her bump too much. Seriously. She's a first time mom, and eventually, the only thing you can do with your hands is put them on your stomach.
Throughout her pregnancy, Meghan Markle was quite visible. She made plenty of appearances by Prince Harry's side, and also on her own. It was clear that she never let her pregnancy stand in the way of doing the work, as evidenced by these pictures. You can tell that the work she's doing is important to her, and as long as she was able to, she would continue to do it.
The pictures were used to announce a clothing collaboration the Duchess is starting. She is the patron of Smart Works, a non-profit organization that helps women get back on their feet and find work. Working with four clothing brands in England, they will be creating a collection of clothing that will help the women feel confident and empowered. As with many non-profits, Smart Works currently relies on donations, and that's always a toss up.
According to the caption, while there were many donations, they are "notably a combination of mismatched items and colours which weren’t always the right stylistic choices or sizes that didn’t necessarily “suit” the job at hand: to make a woman feel confident and inspired as she walked into her job interview."

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended #TheLionKing European premiere in London at the Odeon Theatre. In celebration of the film’s release, The Walt Disney Company announced #ProtectThePride, a global conservation campaign to support efforts protecting the rapidly diminishing lion population across Africa. As a part of their commitment to this cause, Disney also made a donation to The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming environment & community initiative which will be formally announced this autumn. The Duke and Duchess are committed to advancing conservation efforts across Africa and around the world, and working with communities to ensure a sustainable future for the planet. This evening Their Royal Highnesses had the pleasure of meeting the cast and creative team behind the film, as well as supporters of @africanparksnetwork, of which The Duke is President. Meghan Markle gave birth to her and Prince Harry's first child, a son, Archie Harrison back in May. Since his birth, the Duchess has made several appearances, with and without her infant. She has largely been praised for dressing her post pregnancy body elegantly and not trying to hide the fact that she's recently had a child.
