Even though Princess Diana's death was more than 20 years ago, her legacy lives on. It is largely carried on by her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. They have openly talked about how much their mother still is apart of their lives. And they find many ways to honor her memory when they can. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just shared their most direct tribute to Princess Diana by sharing a quote of hers on Instagram.

The quote is the first time the royal couple has acknowledged Diana on social media. Currently, it looks like this quote is the first in a series of posts featuring their favorite inspirational quotes. "Words have the power to inspire, which is why we’re happy to share some of our favourite quotes," reads the caption.

Sharing these inspirational quotes is probably related to their Forces for Change initiative. After Meghan Markle revealed she is the guest editor for British Vogue's September, the posts about Forces for Change have become more common. On the cover of the issue, there are pictures of 15 inspiring women, with one panel being a mirror so the reader can see themselves as a force for change.

Though she's is best known for being a "princess," Diana was also a great humanitarian. She always used her platform for good, and passed those values down to her sons. “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you,” reads the quote. Diana was very much about treating everyone with the utmost kindness.

While the couple has always included Diana's memory into their special moments, this is the first time they've explicitly shared something of hers publicly. Diana's memory is constantly woven throughout all the couple's special moments thus far. When Harry proposed, the ring he gave Meghan has diamonds from Diana's personal collection. And when they got married, her favorite flowers were apart of the wedding decor.

And since their son Archie has been born, they have continued their low-key nods to Diana. Her two older sisters were featured in their family photo following Archie's christening. And in a picture of the infant for Mother's Day, he's surrounded by forget-me-nots, which were Diana's favorite flower.

It's really beautiful to watch Prince Harry embrace his mother's legacy. And we can't wait to see how they do that next.
