The quarantine is slowly ending, and that means that more and more people are starting to exit their homes. This can create a bit of a problem, because while in quarantine, moms everywhere have not been worrying about things like washing their hair, wearing actual clothes, and wearing makeup. What was the point, when we were just staying inside and binge watching our favorite TV shows every single day? However, moms everywhere are now realizing they need to get back into the game.

That is good news for the beauty companies. Companies have seen a dip in sales over the last month because not a lot of people were interested in stocking up on makeup and skin care products. L’Oreal is one of the biggest beauty companies in the world, and they are seeing a huge spike in sales. According to Reuters, the purchasing of cosmetics is starting to pick up again. This is especially true for China, who has had their lockdown lifted for a while now. This life is picking up all over the world.

L’Oreal is a French company, and they also make Lancôme and the more affordable Maybelline products that we all love. They had already reported a company bounce back in April from their market in China. They are now seeing sales return in other parts of Europe, as more and more countries start to open back up.

L’Oreal was still seeing sales online, but their in-store sales make up a big part of their earnings. They had reported a 4.8% fall in sales in their first quarter. It is interesting to see what the new shopping trends will be in this “new” world we are living in and only time will tell. In France and all across Europe, the hair salons are already seeing a huge increase in business, since they have been allowed to reopen.

It looks like it is time to refresh some of our makeup collection, as we get ready to go outside into the real world again. Though moms have never needed a reason or excuse before, it is a great time for that makeover you deserve and have been longing for. Think of it as a reward for surviving quarantine with your husband and children.
