Candace Cameron Bure came back on the scene with the Fuller House reboot and we have had the opportunity to get to know her better. She has a gorgeous husband and beautiful children, and on top of that she's successful. Life seems to be good for the actress. She originally left Hollywood because she wanted to be a stay at home mom to her three children Natasha, Lev, and Maksin.

She is a Christian with a strong belief system and she has been known to be a strict mom. She has old-fashioned parenting techniques that she doesn’t apologize for. She is a tough mom who states she does whatever she can to protect her children even if her parenting techniques aren’t favored by some. She even has a blog called Intentional Parenting which has caused quite a stir online. She believes that giving children boundaries is the best thing that a mom can do for them. She and her husband have a certain way of disciplining their children and they have no problem talking about it. Her techniques are sometimes unpopular but they also make a lot of sense. Check out these 20 things that Candace Bure makes her kids do.

20 An Open Communication Policy

In Candace’s house, she believes in open communication with her children at all times. She talks to her children about everything, it doesn’t matter what the subject is. It’s important to her that her children come to her and talk to her about important matters. It may have a lot to do with why they are so close. The whole family is pretty close and it’s probably because they talk about everything. Candace told BeliefNet, “It’s so important to engage with your kids constantly. I talk with them nonstop from really kind of intense and deep conversations to the fluffy stuff and the day-to-day.”

19 Follow The Teachings In The Bible

She wasn’t brought up religious but she sure made up for it over the years. Both she and her brother Kirk Cameron have been Christians for years. Throughout the years, Candace has talked about her religion and has encouraged fans to become believers as well. Her family follows the teachings in the Bible and that means her children as well. She believes that following the teachings will help her children to make good decisions in her own life. When she messes up in life or her children make mistakes, they ask God for forgiveness.

18 Their Friends Have To Follow Her Online

Candace allows her children to be on social media but it comes with some strict rules. She’s one mom that teens wouldn’t want to meet on social media because she scouts for not-okay behavior. One of the ways she keeps an eye on her kids is to become friend with her children’s online friends. She then monitors their pages to see if they are good influences on her kids. Now that’s major. She tries to be “friends” with as many of them as she can so that she can see if they are the right kids of kids for her children to hang out with.

17 Give Mom All The Passwords

She is on their accounts and she’s checking out their friends. A lot of people might suggest that Candace might be going too far but she does whatever she needs to in order to protect her children. She has explained to her children that while they are online, the world is watching what they say and do and they are responsible for that. All her children have to give her their passwords to their social media accounts. She wants to make sure they aren’t posting certain things and she deletes anything that she doesn’t like.

16 Stay Out Of Mom’s Room

For any couple that has been interrupted in their bedroom by a child walking in, you can probably agree that this rule is an important one. There was a time that one of her children walked in on her and her husband during their “special time” and she didn’t want it ever happening again. Now they have a rule that the children are not allowed in the bedroom when the door is closed. They have to knock first and they are not allowed to go inside unless they receive an answer that it is okay to do so. The incident was embarrassing, and her child asked for forgiveness afterward.

15 No One In The Household Keeps Secrets

One thing that is not tolerated in the household is keeping secrets and Candace has told fans that there should be no secrets between parents and kids. She seems pretty proud of the fact that she has raised honest children that don’t keep secrets from her. She did mention how she didn’t know about her daughter’s first kiss, so there is a chance that she doesn’t know everything. Children should be allowed a certain amount of privacy in their lives so it’s a reach to think that her children are telling her every aspect of their lives.

14 No TV During The Week

Candace is known to be a very strict mom and you might e shocked to hear that a celebrity parent does not let her children watch TV during the week. A whole week without TV... How do they stay caught up on their shows? Candace believes that the children need to focus on school or work during the week and there is no need for TV. She has stated that the family only watches TV on Saturday and Sunday and the rest of the week is used for other things. We couldn’t imagine not having access to TV for five days.

13 No Sports On Sunday

Their father may be a former hockey player but that doesn’t mean that he’s going to allow any exceptions when it comes to Sunday. One thing that Candace doesn’t like is Sunday morning sports. She likes to plan out her weekends and sports tend to get in the way. She believes in going to church on Sunday or spending the day at home as a family. She doesn’t understand why sports practices are ever scheduled on Sunday mornings. She is sometimes forced to do this and she makes sure that they all go as a whole family.

12 Social Media Is Limited

Candace will sometimes post pictures of her life and family on social media. She loves it for herself but she doesn’t feel the same about her kids having access. “I love social media. I think it’s really fun. It’s a great way for me to connect with friends and fans and people who’ve grown up alongside me. But you know, I am who I am. What you see is what you get. I like to be honest and open. I try not to overshare but….I think it’s great as girlfriends we always want to feel like there is someone else going through what we are going through.” Her kids are on social media but she monitors their pages and has full access to them.

11 They Are Trained To Give 100%

They actually have a motto that doesn’t allow the kids to do anything but give a 100% in everything that they do. She admitted on RachelRay.com that their family motto is "excuses are for losers." They follow the motto in every aspect of his life. It seems a little harsh but no one in the family seems to mind. The motto was originated by her husband, Val who used to be a hockey player. It may have a lot to do with the fact that he has a competitive streak. Val and Candace want their children to follow these rules and they aren’t about to tolerate any nonsense. They aren’t allowed to make excuses, just focus on 100%.

10 All Bure Children Must Do Chores

There is certainly nothing wrong with kids doing chores. All the children in the Bure household are responsible for doing chores. The chores that they are expected to take care of is keeping their rooms clean. Taking out the trash, keeping their bathrooms clean, helping to cook meals, feeding the dog, doing dishes and doing the laundry. It’s quite the list but one thing is for sure, they will be prepared for the real world when they move out of their home. It’s refreshing seeing celebrity children that aren’t spoiled. If you want freedom in the household, then the chores must be completed.

9 They Have To Be Physically Active

Candace is considered to be a fab mom because she takes very good care of herself. But both she and her husband have rules in their house about the children’s health. They want their children to treat their bodies right and that means exercising and eating healthy. They want their children to be physically active so that they have the best opportunities in life. They can either participate in sports, go jogging or hit the gym. Candace prefers her children to exercise at least 3-4 times a week. She has stated I interviews that her children have been jogging since they were five years old.

8 They Are Responsible For What Comes Out Of Their Mouths

Candace has talked on The View about some no-good experiences that she has had on Twitter. She said that during her time on social media over the years, she has been verbally down-talked and degraded. She said it was so bad that it took her months to recover from it. She won’t even allow her children on Twitter because she has stated that people are too blunt on the show. She has stated that she teaches her children that they are responsible for the things that come out of their mouths. She even advises them not to post things that would be considered unpopular opinions.

7 Homework Always Comes First

Part of the rules for no TV during the week is because Candace believes that homework should be the focus for the week. She’s definitely a strict mom and we have to wonder if she goes overboard sometimes. She believes that homework comes first in the household. “We turn off the TV, video games and computer - except for homework - during the week. The TV's reserved for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday just because that's the time to do homework, and it makes it that much less chaotic in our house.”

6 Be Kind To Their Siblings

When she was on the TV show Full House, she had on-set siblings as well as real ones. She grew up in a family that taught kindness towards siblings. She said that while she was on the set of Full House, she used to boss Jodie Sweetin around. She was shown a picture of the two of them when they were younger during an interview and Candace said, “Jodie is gagging and pointing to me and that’s probably because I treated her like my real-life little sister.” Candace stated that she would always tell herself to be kinder to her siblings in real life and on set. She expects the same from her own children.

5 To Be Comfortable Where They Are

Candace has had times in her life where she wasn’t always comfortable in her own skin. One time that she remembers feeling that way was when she first became a mother and we have all certainly been there. “I look like I’m 12-years-old in this picture, holding a baby,” she said laughing at a photo of her and her third child Max. “I had so many voices in my head telling me ‘you should be doing this’ or ‘you should be doing that,'” she said. She realized though that she was exactly where she was supposed to be and she wants her own children to just chill in the moments that they are currently in.

4 She Forces Them To Be Courageous

She doesn’t teach anything to her kids that she’s not willing to do herself and that includes being courageous. When she appeared on Dancing With The Stars she said it was one of her more courageous acts. “That picture as exciting as it is, it still makes my stomach queasy because I wanted to throw up every night on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’” she admitted. She is proud of the move she made to appear on the show. “I learned so much from that show but I still need that message every day,” she said.

3 Go After Their Dreams

She followed her dreams as an actress and she has no problem with her children going into showbiz as well. There are a lot of people who worry about their children going into Hollywood and there are even actors that don’t want their children in the same business, but Candace is not one of them. Her daughter, Natasha has gone forward into working as a model and actress and Candace supports her. “My daughter's dabbling in showbiz, and she's done a few commercials. She's auditioned for some movies and shows, so I'm letting her pursue that. I'm OK with it.”

2 Read As Much As They Can

Reading is always something that should be encouraged in any household. Candace believes that every child has a need and if that need is met, then that child will be able to reach their maximum potential. We already know that TV is minimized in the household and what replaces it is lots of reading. She encourages her children to read a lot and to actually enjoy reading as a pastime. She also encourages her children to write and to take joy in the practice. She believes that this will foster better practices than watching TV will.

1 The Whole Family Has To Be Team Players

The family is very close; that much is obvious, and it seems like they work as a team in everything that they do. Regardless of what one person in the family is doing, the whole family will go along for support. If one of the children has a sports practice, then everyone goes to support that child. They eat out a lot and they do it as a family and their weekends are also filled with fun activities. She says that her children love to spend time with their children. It does explain why the family is so close.
