The keto diet or a high fat, moderate protein, and very low carbohydrate way of eating has been all the rage lately. If you feel like you have been overeating due to the current pandemic (who hasn't?) and are starting to think more about your health, you will be totally impressed by something called the "lazy keto" way of eating and motivated by this woman who lost over 100 pounds doing it.

And did we mention that she did it in just one year? It's pretty impressive if you ask us.

Good Morning America shared that about two years ago, Megan Faraday, now 25, a woman from Ontario, Canada, realized that she needed to make a change with her overall health.

"I just felt really uncomfortable with myself for a really long time, a whole lifetime of dieting and binge eating," Faraday told Good Morning America. "I woke up one morning and was like 'I'm going to try keto and see if it sticks,' and it did."

Her weight loss success came from doing something called "lazy keto," which is still a version of the popular keto diet, however, it means that you don't have to be as strict about keeping track of all your daily macros.

"It's keto without all of the hardcore rules," Faraday said of her "lazy keto" approach. "I figured out how to calculate net carbs [the total grams of carbohydrates in a food minus the grams of fiber] and just went from there."

Before she switched to the "lazy keto" diet, her previous diet consisted of quite a bit of fast food, pasta, and potatoes. Once she switched to her current "lazy keto" diet, which is high in vegetables and lean proteins, she immediately dropped fifteen pounds the very first month. If that isn't motivation to keep going, we don't know what is.

"I think the reason why this time really stuck with me was it was so easy for me to get into the swing of things with keto," she said. "Seeing the weight come off was the biggest motivator. I saw that and it just kept me determined to keep going."

We're sure that the burning question you're all wondering is if you can ever eat carbs again after coming off of the keto diet, right? Well, Faraday says that yes, she is slowly starting to introduce carbs to her diet again, but slowly. But will that make her regain the weight?
