The COVID-19 pandemic may be bringing a lot of challenges and struggles to people all over the world, it is also doing some good. It is showing the goodness in people, people who are willing to help others and make sure that the world is a better place. It has been inspiring to watch people come together and take care of each other in any way that they can.

This is especially true when people are using their own talents for good. According to Today, when the stay-at-home orders forced everyone to stay home, Rhiannon Menn, was trying to find a purpose like many people around the world.

Riannon is a mom from San Diego, California and she is a bit of a pro in the kitchen and she discovered that she could use her skills to help those who needed it the most. She expressed that a month into lock down, she started hearing stories of moms who had lost their jobs, their spot in childcare and were just stressed out, so she decided on a whim to just make some extra meals.

In the beginning, it was just something for Rhiannon to do as well as offer some comforting dishes to people in her community, but it turned into so much more. It turned into Lasagna Love. Lasagna Love is an organization with about 500 “lasagna mamas” who are feeding struggling families all across the US.

The organization is serving up meals in 13 states and 266 cities and they have fed over 3,000 families. She started finding other people who were just feeling helpless and looking for ways to help out other people, and they started asking if they could join her in cooking, and she said of course.

The organizations website lets anyone sign up to either make a lasagna or receive one right at their door, and it even includes a kind note. Their website explains how the whole process works and if someone is not the greatest cook, they can donate to the organization to help purchase supplies for a chef to make a lasagna for a family.

Families have been struggling throughout the pandemic to put food on their table, and sometimes the best medicine is a nice, warm and home cooked meal on the dinner table at night. A chance for a family to come together and enjoy each other’s company without worrying where dinner is going to come from today.
